ABSTRACT This study tries to explore if forward, futures and option con tracts, SWAP and REPO are known and preferred as reliable finan cial instruments in Turkey, if there is a need for them in the market and what do the users recommend for future. Prior to this study, there were only two articles which dis cussed whether the forward exchange market in Turkey can reach the stage of equilibrium under the legal framework of the Central Bank of Turkey. To obtain the answers to the above questions, we have conducted interviews at twentyone foreign trade capital companies (FTCC) and eleven banks. During these interviews, we have observed that: - Forward exchange market can operate under this legal framework of the Central Bank in Turkey, - Real forward contracts will be expanded in Turkey under new regulations, Financial futures contracts are not known in Turkey and if they are started to be used, FTCC are not going to be the ones to use because of having no excess funds, - Market is not ready for the option contracts yer, - SWAPs are not being used as hedging instruments yet.
