Özet

ÖZET Bu çalışmanın amacı, burun bantlarının, dayanıklılık performansına ve oksijen kullanım kapasitesine etkisini araştırmaktır. Bu çalışmadaki“Shuttle Run”(Mekik Koşu) Testi'ne, 28 antrenmansız erkek ve 18 antrenmansız bayan denek gönüllü olarak katılmışlar; deneklerin yaş, boy ve ağırlık özellikleri alınmıştır. Denekler, burun bandı (Sport Strips, Corbett Lair Inc., Portland, USA) ve burun bandı olmadan bir hafta ara ile shuttle run dayanıklılık testi kullanılarak test edildi. Sonuçlar, bağımlı ve bağımsız“t.”testi kullanılarak incelendi. İstatistiksel anlamlılık değeri p<0.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bant kullanılarak ve kullanılmadan yapılan testlerin sonunda bağımsız erkek ve kız grupların mekik koşu ve MaxV02 tüketiminde istatistiksel olarak herhangi anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Bağımlı grupların bantlı ve bantsız koşularının karşılaştırılmasının istatistiksel analizleri sonucunda ise anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur.

SUMMARY The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of nose strips on the endurance perfonmance and the O2 consumption capacity. 28 untrained male and 18 untrained female were used as subjects in this study. Their age, tall and weight specialities were reported. The subjects performed the“Shuttle run”test with nose strips (sport strips, Corbett Lair Inc, Portland U.S.A.) and without nose strips in one week apart. The results were analyzed by using independent and dependent t.-test. The statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. At the and of the tests which have been done by using and whithout nose strisps, statistically, a significant difference was not found in dependent male and female groups shuttle run test, and comsuption of MaxVÛ2. On the other hand, in comparision in dependent groups runs -with using and without strips- statistical analyses results, a significant difference was found.
