Özet

Psikanalizle birlikte herkes tarafından bilinir hale gelen bilinçdışı günümüzde felsefe psikoloji, nörobilim ve bilişsel bilimde geniş ölçülerde kabul görmektedir. Psikanalitik kuram zihnimizin büyük bir bölümünün bilinçdışı işlediğini ve bilincin sadece zihnin bir bölümünün bir niteliği olduğunu ileri sürmesinden beri yüzyıldan fazla zaman geçmiş olmasına rağmen bilinçdışı o günkü tıp bilimlerinde oldukça tartışmalı olan konumunu belli ölçülerde hâlâ korumaktadır. Bilinçdışı, felsefe ve bilimin gündeminde olduğu sürece benlik ile birlikte anılmıştır. Bu tezde, bilinçdışı ve benlik kavramının klasik dönemden günümüze kadar geçen tarihsel süreçte felsefe ve bilimde nasıl ele alındığı, temel önerme ve iddiaların neler olduğu araştırılarak birbirlerini ve günümüzü nasıl etkilediklerinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Psikanalitik kuramın bilinçdışı ve benlik konusunda ön plana çıkan kuramcılarının fikirleri, kuramsal ve uygulamalı olarak bir yöntem belirleme ve kavramsal bir çerçeve oluşturmaya temel oluşturan etkileri kapsamında ele alınmıştır. Felsefe, psikoloji, bilişsel bilim ve nörobilimde teknolojik ve bilimsel gelişim/değişim aracılığıyla yeni ve farklı bir biçimde gündeme gelen bilinçdışı kavramının geçirdiği dönüşüm ve bu dönüşümün benlik kavramına etkileri incelenmiştir. Bilinçdışı kavramının bu dönüşüme uğramasına etki eden süreç ve etkenler araştırılmış ve bu kavramın felsefî ve bilimsel yönü tartışılmıştır. "İnsan nedir? sorusuna bilinçdışı kavramı ve bilinçdışının benlikle etkileşimi temelinde yanıt vermenin mümkünlüğü ile bilimin nesnel yöntemlerle araştırdığı bilinçdışı kavramına içebakış yöntemlerinin katkısının ne olacağı ve tüm bunların çağdaş felsefedeki yeri soruşturulmuştur.

The unconscious, which became known to everyone with psychoanalysis, is widely accepted in philosophy, psychology, neuroscience and cognitive science today. Although it has been more than a century since psychoanalytic theory asserted that a large part of our mind operates unconsciously and that consciousness is a property of only a part of the mind, the unconscious still retains its highly controversial position in the medical sciences of that day, to a certain extent. The unconscious has been associated with the self as long as it is on the agenda of philosophy and science. In this thesis, it is aimed to determine how the concept of the unconscious and the self are handled in philosophy and science in the historical process from the classical period to the present, and how they affect each other and today by investigating what the basic propositions and claims are. The ideas of the prominent theorists of psychoanalytic theory on the unconscious and the self are discussed within the scope of their effects, which form the basis for determining a method and forming a conceptual framework, theoretically and practically. The transformation of the concept of unconscious, which has come to the fore in a new and different way through technological and scientific development/change in philosophy, psychology, cognitive science and neuroscience, and the effects of this transformation on the concept of the self has been examined. The processes and factors affecting this transformation of the concept of the unconscious have been investigated and the philosophical and scientific aspects of this concept have been discussed. The possibility of answering the question of“What is Man?”on the basis of the concept of the unconscious and the interaction of the unconscious with the self, the contribution of introspection methods to the concept of the unconscious, which science investigates with objective methods, and the place of all these in contemporary philosophy have been investigated.
