Özet

Ailenin işlevlerini yerine getirirken çocuğun gelişimine destek olamadığı ya da onun gelişimine zarar verebildiği durumlar da görülebilmektedir. Bu eylemlerden biri olan ve çalışmanın odak noktasını oluşturan kavram ise çocuk ihmali ve istismarı olgusudur. Bu ihmal ve istismar olgusu üzerine ebeveynlerin ne düzeyde farkındalığa sahip oldukları çalışmanın merak konusunu oluşturmuş, okul öncesi dönemde çocuğa sahip ebeveynlerin ihmal ve istismar eylemine karşı farkındalık düzeylerinin belirlenmesi, bu farkındalığa etki eden faktörlerin tespit edilmesi ise çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu amacın gerçekleştirilebilmesi uğruna yürütülen çalışma iki bölümden oluşmakta çalışmanın ilk bölümünde ilgili literatür taraması ışığında kavramsal çerçeveye değinilmekte, ikinci bölümünde ise araştırma katılımcıya uygulanarak elde edilen verilerin analizi yapılmaktadır. Nicel araştırma metodu kullanılarak hazırlanan çalışmada ilişkisel tarama yöntemi benimsenmiştir. Araştırmanın genelleneceği evren, Sivas ilinde ikamet eden, çocuğu okul öncesi eğitim döneminde yer alan ebeveynlerden oluşmaktadır. Minimum düzeyde 379 katılımcı örneklemi belirlenirken olasılıklı örneklem seçim yöntemlerinden olan rastgele örneklem seçim yöntemi benimsenerek 434 gönüllü katılımcıya ulaşılmıştır. Verilerin elde edilmesi kısmında ise ölçek yöntemi benimsenerek örnekleme öncelikle Demografik Bilgi Formu ardından da İstismar Farkındalık Ölçeği-Ebeveyn Bilgi Formunu içeren veri toplama aracı katılımcılara uygulanarak gerekli veriler elde edilebilmiştir. Elde edilen bu verilerin SPSS paket programı içerisinde çözümlemesi yapılmış program içerisinde öncelikle katılımcıların farkındalık düzeyini belirleyebilmek adına ölçekten aldıkları toplam puana yer verilmiş, ardından ise iki gruba ayrılan değişkenlere yönelik olarak bağımsız örneklem t testi uygulanmış, üç ve üzeri gruba ayrılan değişkenlere yönelik ise ANOVA testi uygulanmıştır. ANOVA testi uygulanan değişkenlere ise gruplar arasındaki anlamlı farklılığı tespit edebilmek adına Post-Hoc testi uygulanmıştır. Yürütülen analizler ışığında katılımcıların ölçekten aldıkları en düşük puanın 28 olduğu, en yüksek puanın 77 olduğu ve katılımcıların ortalama puanlarının ise 56,31 oldu görülmüş, bu bulgu ise bizi katılımcıların genel olarak orta düzeyde farkındalığa sahip oldukları sonucuna götürmüştür. Ardından betimsel analiz kısmında yer alan bağımsız değişkenlerin analizinde bulunulmuş elde edilen bulgulardan yaş, gelir ve eğitim düzeyi ile ebeveyn farkındalık düzeyi arasında anlamlı farklılık olduğu bulgularına ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulguların literatür ışığında tartışılmasının ardından araştırma nihayete erdirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak çocuk ihmali ve istismarına yönelik ebeveyn farkındalığının bilinmesi, önleyici çalışmaların yürütülmesi hususunda ışık tutacaktır. Bu çalışma sonucunda farkındalık düzeyine katılımcının yaşı, eğitim seviyesi ve gelir seviyesinin etki ettiği görülmüş ve bu hususlara yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.

There may also be situations where the family cannot support the development of the child or harm his/her development while fulfilling its functions. One of these actions and the concept that constitutes the focal point of the study is the phenomenon of child neglect and abuse. The level of awareness of parents on this phenomenon of neglect and abuse has been the subject of curiosity of the study. The aim of the study is to determine the awareness levels of parents who have children in the preschool period against the act of neglect and abuse, and to determine the factors affecting this awareness. In the first part of the study, the conceptual framework is mentioned in the light of the relevant literature review, and in the second part, the data obtained by applying the research to the participant is analyzed. The relational survey method was adopted in the study, which was prepared using the quantitative research method. The universe to which the research will be generalized consists of parents residing in Sivas province, whose children are in the pre-school education period. While the minimum sample of 379 participants was determined, 434 volunteer participants were reached by adopting the random sample selection method, which is one of the probabilistic sample selection methods. In the part of obtaining the data, the necessary data was obtained by adopting the scale method and applying the data collection tool, which includes the sampling first, the Demographic Information Form and then the Abuse Awareness Scale-Parent Information Form to the participants. In order to determine the awareness level of the participants, first of all, the total score they got from the scale was included in the program, in which these obtained data were analyzed in the SPSS package program, Afterwards, independent sample t-test was applied for the variables divided into two groups, and ANOVA test was applied for the variables divided into three or more groups. ANOVA test was applied to the variables, on the other hand, Post-Hoc test was applied in order to determine the significant difference between the groups. In the light of the analyzes carried out, it was seen that the lowest score the participants got from the scale was 28, the highest score was 77, and the average score of the participants was 56.31. This finding led us to the conclusion that the participants generally had moderate awareness. Then, the independent variables in the descriptive analysis section were analyzed and it was found that there was a significant difference between age, income and education level and parental awareness level from the findings. After the findings obtained as a result of the research were discussed in the light of the literature, the research was concluded. As a result, knowing parental awareness of child neglect and abuse will shed light on the conduct of preventive studies. As a result of this study, it was seen that the age, education level and income level of the participant affected the level of awareness and suggestions were made for these issues.
