Dr. Refik Güllü Temmuz 1999, 126 sayfa Bu çalışmada, dönemsel gözden geçirmeli bir üretim/envanter modeli incelen mektedir. Dönemsel talebin bilinmediği fakat bilinen ve sabit bir dağılımı olduğu kabul edilmektedir. Doğrusal stok-taşıma ve yok-satma maliyetleri dönem sonun daki envanter pozisyonuna göre hesaplanmaktadır. Ayrıca, bir dönemde sınırlı miktarda üretim yapılabilmekte ve üretime geçmenin sabit bir maliyeti bulun maktadır. Eniyileme kriteri, dönemsel ortalama maliyetlerin enazlanmasıdır. Öncelikle bu problemin tek dönemlik halinin en iyi çözümünün değiştirilmiş bir (s, 5)-politikası olduğu ispatlanmaktadır. Daha sonra, bir örnek üzerinde bu politikanın çok dönemli probleme uygulanamayacağı gösterilmektedir. Bu-radan hareketle, kapasite kısıtlı sabit maliyetsiz problemin çözümü ile tek dönemli problemin en iyi politikasını birleştiren melez bir çözüm önerilmektedir. Bu sezgisel çözüm daha başka kabuller veya karmaşık hesaplamalar gerektirmemekte dir. Önerilen çözümün performansı, bir dizi örnek problem üzerindeki benzetilmiş sonuçlarının, en iyi çözümle karşılaştırılması yoluyla sınanmaktadır. Son olarak, elde edilen sonuçlar tartışılmaktadır.

ABSTRACT OPTIMAL PRODUCTION/INVENTORY POLICIES UNDER CAPACITY CONSTRAINTS AND FLXED COSTS Kurşunlu, Can M.S, Department of Industrial Engineering Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Refik Güllü July 1999, 126 pages In this study, we analyse the single item periodic review problem. We assume that demand in a period is unknown but follows a known stationary distribution. Linear holding and backorder costs are charged per unit of inventory at the end of a period. Furthermore, there is a finite upper bound on the amount that can be produced in a period and a positive fixed cost associated with the decision to produce. The optimisation criterion is the minimisation of average costs per period. We first show that the optimal solution to the single period version of this problem is a modified (s, 5)-policy. Then, we show on an example that the extension of this policy to the multi-period setting is not optimal. Therefore, we mpropose a hybrid solution procedure by combining the result for the capacitated problem with no setup costs and the optimal policy for the single period problem. The approach does not require any further assumptions or involved computations. We test the performance of this heuristic approach by comparing the simulated results to the optimal solution of a set of example problems. We conclude with a discussion of the computational results.
