Özet
VI ÖZET Bu çalışmanın birinci amacı Türk otomotiv yan sanayindeki teknoloji yönetimi uygulamalarını belirlemek ve değerlendirmektir, ikinci amaç ise, teknoloji yönetimi uygulamalarının geliştirilmesi ve teknolojinin bir rekabet silahı haline getirilmesi için yeni yaklaşımlar ve iyi uygulamalar önermektir. Bu amaçları gerçekleştirmek için bir teknoloji yönetimi süreç modeli geliştirilmiştir. Sürdürülebilir bir rekabet avantajı, bir organizasyonun teknoloji belirleme, seçme, edinme, kullanma, koruma ve sonlandırma süreçlerinin sürekli olarak geliştirmesi ile mümkün olacaktır. Yaklaşımın dayandığı düşünce budur. Alt süreçlerin yapısı yoğun bir literatür araştırması neticesinde oluşturulmuştur. Geliştirilen model daha sonra bir anket formuna dönüştürülmüştür. Bu anket bir grup yan sanayi şirketine uygulanmıştır. Toplanan verilerin değerlendirilmesi ile, teknoloji yönetimi sürecinin her bir aşaması ile ilgili mevcut uygulamalar belirlenmiş ve gelişmeye açık alanlar ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Bu alanların geliştirilmesine yönelik olarak literatüre dayanarak önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

ABSTRACT The first objective of this study is to describe and evaluate technology management practices in the Turkish automotive suppliers industry. The second objective is to propose practices and approaches to enhance the level of technology management and thus turn technology into a competitive weapon. In order to accomplish these objectives, a process model for. technology management was developed. The idea is that sustainable competitive advantage comes from the organization, learning how to constantly improve the underlying processes that identify, select, acquire, exploit, protect and abandon technology. The structure of each sub-process was constructed through an extensive research of the literature in the field of technology management. The model was transformed into a questionnaire and a survey was applied to a sample of supplier companies. Detailed evaluation of the gathered data reveled the characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of each phase of the process. In order to improve the level of technology management, various practices and approaches were recommended.
