Özet

Bu çalışmada bağlanma yönelimlerinin anksiyete ve depresyon üzerindeki etkisinde otobiyografik anıların işlevlerinin ve algılanan partner duyarlılığının rolü incelenmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı otobiyografik anıların işlevlerini hem Türkiye hem de Amerika Birleşik Devletleri örnekleminde bağlanma yönelimleri bağlamında araştırmaktır. Bu amaçla iki aşamalı bir çalışma yürütülmüştür. İlk aşamada Türkiye'den toplanan 282 veri üzerinden Yakın İlişkilerde Yaşantılar Envanteri (II), Algılanan Partner Duyarlılığı Ölçeği, Hayat Deneyimleri Hakkında Düşünme Ölçeği ve Depresyon Anksiyete Stres (21), Ölçeğinden yararlanılarak bir model oluşturulmuştur. Oluşturulan model Hayes'in PROCESS Macro eklentisi ile SPSS üzerinden analiz edilmiştir. Bağlanma yönelimlerinin psikolojik sağlık unsurları ile ilişkisini otobiyografik anı işlevleri aracılığında ve algılanan partner duyarlılığı moderatörlüğünde test eden modele göre romantik temalı anılarının işlevlerini kullanma eğilimleri düşük olduğu koşulda, güvensiz bağlanma yönelimleri sonucu zedelenen algılanan partner duyarlılığının anksiyete düzeyiniartırmaktadır. Bu bulgular, romantik anıların işlevsel kullanılması durumunda psikolojik sorunlara karşı koruyucu bir etkisi olduğunu gösterir niteliktedir.Ancak tezin güvensiz bağlanmaya bağlı anıların sağlıksız işleyişini tespit etme amacı doğrultusunda, olumsuz duygu yüklü romantik anıları merkezine alan ikinci bir çalışma planlanmıştır. Çalışma 2 kapsamında önce Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nden 324 sonrasında ise Türkiye'den 224 kişi olmak üzere tekrar veri toplanmış ve yeni bir model test edilmiştir. Sonuçlar Amerika Birleşik Devletleri için otobiyografik anı işlevlerinin çatışma içerikli romantik anılarda psikolojik sağlık unsurlarını olumsuz etkilediğini işaret ederken model Türkiye örneklemi için anlamlı sonuçlar göstermemiştir. Araştırmanın sonunda Türkiye ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri üzerinden toplanan veriler ANOVA analizi ile test edilmiş ve sonuçlar Bağlanma Kuramı ve kültürel farklılıklar çerçevesinde tartışılmıştır.

This study examines the role of attachment orientations, autobiographical memory functions, and perceived partner responsiveness in their impact on anxiety and depression. The aim of the study is to investigate the functions of autobiographical memories in the context of attachment orientations in both Turkey and the United States. To achieve this goal, a two-stage study was conducted. In the first stage, using data collected from 282 participants in Turkey, a model was constructed using the Experiences in Close Relationships Inventory (ECR-II), the Perceived Partner Responsiveness Scale, the Rumination on Sadness Scale, and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (21 items). The constructed model was then analyzed using Hayes' PROCESS Macro extension in SPSS. According to the model, which tests the relationship between attachment orientations and psychological health factors through the mediation of autobiographical memory functions and the moderation of perceived partner responsiveness, when individuals with insecure attachment orientations have low tendencies to use the functions of romantic-themed memories, impaired perceived partner responsiveness exacerbates anxiety levels. These findings suggest that the functional use of romantic memories has a protective effect against psychological problems. However, in line with the purpose of identifying the unhealthy functioning of memories associated with insecure attachment, a second study focusing on negatively emotionally loaded romantic memories was planned. In Study 2, data were collected again, first from 324 participants in the United States and then from 224 participants in Turkey, and a new model was tested. The results indicate that in the United States, autobiographical memory functions in conflict-laden romantic memories negatively affect psychological health factors, while the model did not yield significant results for the Turkish sample. At the end of the study, the data collected from Turkey and the United States were tested using ANOVA analysis, and the results were discussed within the framework of Attachment Theory and cultural differences.
