Özet

The aim of the first stage of this two-stage research is to develop a clinical placement method for nurses working in public hospitals, and the aim of the second stage is to determine the effect of the clinical placement method on nurses outcomes. The sample of the first phase of the study, which was carried out in a descriptive design, consisted of 32 nurse managers and 1331 nurses working in public hospitals in İstanbul. The data were collected between 01.06.2022 and 31.01.2023 using a questionnaire form developed in line with the literature. In line with the findings obtained from the first stage and the relevant literature, the Clinical Placement Method was developed for nurses working in public hospitals. Five experts were consulted for the content validity of the developed method and the content validity index was determined as 97.2. In the second stage of the study, all nurses who were assigned to four public hospitals (state, education research and city hospitals) in İstanbul were placed in the clinic by applying the Clinical Placement Method. The sample of the second phase of the study consisted of 63 nurses who were placed in the clinic by applying the Clinical Placement Method and 111 nurses who were placed in the same hospitals in the previous period. The data of the second phase were collected between 01.04.2023-30.07.2023. Nurse Information Form and Assessment Tests (Occupational Adaptation Scale in Nursing, Ten-Article Personality Scale, Compassion Scale) were applied to the nurses. Nurses were placed in clinics as a result of the Structured Clinical Placement Interview. Three months later, Personal Information Form, Job Satisfaction Scale for Clinical Nurses and Person-Work Adjustment Scale were applied to the nurses. In addition, the performance of the nurses was evaluated by the clinical charge nurses using the Task Performance Scale. In the third month after placement in the clinic, the same measurement tools were applied to the nurses who were placed with the clinical placement method and simultaneously to the nurses who were placed without the clinical placement method in the previous period, and the results between the two groups were compared. Significant differences were determined between the mean scores of the scale according to some characteristics of the nurses. The person-job fit and task performance of the nurses who were placed in the clinic by applying the Clinical Placement Method were determined to be above average, and job satisfaction was determined to be high. No significant difference was found between the mean scores of person-job adjustment and job satisfaction of the nurses who were placed in the clinic with the Clinical Placement Method and those who were placed without the method in the previous period. However, a significant difference was found between the mean scores of task performance. According to the results of the research, it can be said that there is a need for a structured clinical placement method for nurses to be applied in public hospitals, and the preliminary application results of the developed method reveal the positive results of the method. It is recommended that the developed method be used by nurse managers in public hospitals and developed according to the results of the application. September 2024,.198 pages.
