Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı dijital ve geleneksel yöntemleri kapsayan hibrit bir görsel tasarımdaki temel belirleyicileri incelemektir. Bu amaç eksenindeki odak, duvar resimlerine eklenen AR teknolojisi üzerinde oluşturulmuştur ve ana soru, bir duvar resiminin marker-based AR teknolojisiyle birleştirilmesinde nasıl tasarımsal dönüşümlere ve unsurlara ihtiyaç duyulabileceği üzerinden ortaya atılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini oluşturan Kadıköy/İstanbul Yeldeğirmeni bölgesindeki duvar resimleri oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem olarak seçilen üç adet duvar resmine, çalışmanın yazarı tarafından marker-based AR tasarımlar eklenmiş ve oluşan hibrit görsel,“AR Ingredients”ve“Compositional Interpretation”kategorileri altında analiz edilmiştir. Buradaki iki aşamalı yapısal analiz, AR teknolojisinin Teknik belirleyicileri olan, fiziksel mekan ve dijital nesne bir aradalığı, AR nesnenin tasarımsal türü ve AR'daki etkileşim boyutu kategorileri ve Compositional Interpretation unsurları olan content, color, spatial organization, lighting, expressive content kategorilerinden oluşmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında gerçekleştirilmiş duvar resmi-AR tasarımları, iki aşamalı bu yapısal analiz çerçevesinde değerlendirilmiş ve marker-based AR ile artırılan duvar resimlerindeki görsel tasarımın, geleneksel tasarım ilkelerinden bağımsız olamayacağı saptanmıştır. Bununla beraber, AR deneyimi içindeki dijital unsurların, duvar resminin bulunduğu fiziksel mekan ile birlikte düşünülerek, oluşan bütüncül tasarımı tamamlaması gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to examine the basic determinants of a hybrid visual design that includes digital and traditional methods. The focus of this aim is on AR technology added to murals, and the main question is posed on what kind of design transformations and elements may be needed when combining a mural with marker-based AR technology. The universe of the research consists of the murals in the Yeldeğirmeni region of Kadıköy/Istanbul. Marker-based AR designs, which are created and implemented by the author of this study, were added to the three murals selected as a sample. The resulting hybrid visual was analyzed under the categories of“AR Ingredients”and“Compositional Interpretation”. The first level of the two-stage structural analysis here consists of the categories of physical space and digital object coexistence, the design type of the AR object and the interaction dimension in AR, which are the technical determinants of AR technology. Second level of the two-stage structural analysis consists of the categories of content, color, spatial organization, lighting, expressive content, which are Compositional Interpretation elements. The applied mural-AR designs were evaluated within the framework of this two-stage structural analysis, and it was determined that the visual design in murals augmented by marker-based AR cannot be independent of traditional design principles. In addition to this determination, it was concluded that the digital elements within the AR experience should be considered together with the physical space where the mural is located, and it should complete the integrated design.
