UZAKTAN E?İTİM YAKLAŞIMIYLA UYGULANAN E?İTİM ÖNLİSANS PROGRAMI 'WIN Ö?RETMENLİK MESLEK BİLGİSİNİ KAZANDIRMA YÖNÜNDEN ETKİLİLİ?İ ÖZET,Bu araştırma ile, Anadolu Üniversitesi Açıköğretim Fakültesi 'nce uzaktan eğitim yaklaşımıyla uygulanan bir öğretmen eğitimi programı olan Eğitim Önlisans Programı'nın, programdan geçen öğretmenlerin Öğretmenlik meslek bilgisine ilişkin amaçlanan davranışları kazanmalarında ne ölçüde etkili olduğunun belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.“öntest-sontest ayrı örnek grup modeli”nin kullanıldığı araştırmanın verileri, 1987-1988 öğretim yılında Eğitim önlisans Programı *na katılan 428 ilkokul Öğretmenine uygulanmış olan iki test ve bir anket aracılığıyla toplanmıştır, öğretmenlik meslek bilgisine ilişkin davranışları ölçmeye yönelik olan testler, programda öğretmenlik meslek bilgisi derslerinin öğretimine başlamadan önce öntest olarak, bu derslerin öğretiminin tamamlanmasından sonra da sontest olarak örneklemdeki ' öğretmenlere uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca, anketle, öğretmenlere ilişkin kişisel bilgiler ve öğretmenlerin, uzaktan eğitim sürecindeki öğrenme etkinliklerine ilişkin bilgiler sağlanmıştır. Öntest ve sontest uygulama sonuçları ile anket bilgilerinin istatistiksel çözümlemeleri sonucunda şu bulgular elde edilmiştir; Eğitim Önlisans Programı'ndan geçen öğretmenlerde, öğretmenlik meslek bilgisi yönünden önemli sayılabilecek ölçüde öğrenme olmuştur. Bu, uzaktan eğitim yaklaşımının etkili olduğunun bir kanıtı, olarak değerlendirilebilir.. Eğitim Önlisans Proğramı'ndan geçen öğretmenlerin öğretmenlik meslek bilgisine ilişkin öğrenmelerinin, cinsiyetlerine, bitir dikleri öğretim kurumlarına ve öğretmenlikteki hizmet süresine göre değişmediği anlatılmıştır.. Eğitim Önlisans Proğramı'ndan geçen Öğretmenlerin büyük çoğunluğunun ders kitaplarından yararlanmalarına karşılık televizyon ve radyo programlarına, pek izlemedikleri ortaya çıkmıştır.Ayraca, öğretmenlerin birçoğunun ek öğrenme etkinliğinde bulunduklara ve yüzyüze öğretime gereksinme duydukları anlaşılmıştır. Bunların yanı sıra, beklenenin dışında sonuçlar olarak, öğretmenlerin öğretmenlik meslek bilgisindeki öğrenme düzeylerinin, öğretim ortamlarından yararlanma derecelerine, ek öğrenme etkinliğinde bulunma durumlarına ve yüzyüze Öğretime gereksinme duyma derecelerine göre değişmediği görülmüştür... Eğitim Önlisans Programı'ndan geçen öğretmenlerce, uzaktan eğitim yaklaşımıyla öğretmenler için öğretmenlik meslek bilgisini yenileyici ve geliştirici hizmetiçi eğitim programları ile lisans ve lisansüstü öğrenim sağlamaya ve genel kültürü zenginleştirmeye yönelik programların uygulamaya konması, ayrıca hizmetiçi eğitim programlarında başarılı olan öğret menlerin özellikle özlük durumlarında iyileştirme yapılarak ödüllendirilmeleri önerilmiştir.

THE EFFECTIVENESS OP THE TWO-YEAR DIPLOMA PROGRAM K)R ELJBfflSNTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS THROUGH DISTANCE EDUCATION Iff INDUCING THE KNOWLEDGE OP EDUCATIONAL THEORY AND PRACTICE ABSTRACT Anadolu University, Eskişehir, Turkey, has sponsored a two-year up-grading academic program for elementary school teachers through the Open Education S^culty utilizing distance education techniques. This study tries to deter mine the effectiveness of the said program in inducing the knowledge of educational theory ^and practice in the teachers enrolled in the program. Two tests and a questionnaire were used in data collection. They were given to 428 elementary school teachers randomly selected during the aca demic year of 1987-1988. The tests developed for measuring the teachers' knowledge of educational theory and practice were given as a pre-test before the related courses in the program were taught, and as a post-test once these courses were taught through the media. Moreover, some personal infor mation about each teacher in the sampling group was collected and the learning methods of each teacher were found out through the questionnaire. The statistical analysis of the data optained from the tests and the questionnaire reveal the following: t There is a marked increase in the knowledge of educational theory and practice of the teachers enrolled in the program. This most probably shows the effectiveness of the distaaş© education. -. The increase in, the knowledge of educational theory and practice of the teachers is unrelated to the sex, prior educational back- ' ground and Reaching experience of theirs.. The teachers enrolled in the program greatly relied on the text books for learning and followed a few of the television and radio programs.
