Özet
“Eğitim”ve“öğrenme”kavramları tartışılırken genellikle akla ilk önce okul gibi geleneksel eğitim kurumları gelmektedir. Ancak kütüphanelerin de toplumsal eğitime anlamlı katkıları bulunmaktadır. Eğitim bilimlerindeki öğrenme kuramları dinamiktir, güncel ve etkin kalabilmek için sürekli olarak değişime uğramaktadır. Öğrenme faaliyetlerini kolaylaştıran her mekânın bu eğilimlerin farkında olması ve bunları eğitim felsefesine dahil etmesi esastır. Yenilikçi kütüphane tasarımının temelini oluşturmak için zamanın ruhunu ve kullanıcıların mevcut gereksinimlerini anlamak gerekmektedir. Bu çalışma, 5 adet yenilikçi eğitim yöntemini (Aktif Öğrenme, Kendi Kendine Öğrenme, Tersyüz Öğrenme, MAKER ve STEM ve Oyunlaştırma) incelemeyi, bu yöntemlerin esneklik, sürdürülebilirlik, erişilebilirlik, ergonomi ve mekânsal çeşitlilik gibi tasarım kriterlerine göre uygulanabilirliğini değerlendirmeyi ve kütüphane binaları için güncel bir tasarım haritası sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Tez sonucunda yenilikçi eğitim yöntemlerinin uygulanabilmesi için binanın mimari olarak bazı refleks ve yapılanmalara ihtiyacı olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Yalnızca uygulanması imkansızdır. Dolayısıyla mekânsal esnekliğe sahip, bu geçiş esnasında ergonomik standartlardan ödün vermeyen, sürdürülebilirlik felsefesini yalnızca fiziksel olarak değil, kuramsal olarak da yapısına entegre etmiş, yalnızca fiziksel değil sosyal engelleri de aşan, kütüphane binalarının sessiz okuma odalarından ibaret yapısını kırıp mekânsal çeşitliliğe açık kütüphane oluşumu hem formel eğitimin desteklenmesi hem de eğitime yön verilmesi konusunda atılması gereken adımları tanımlamaktadır. Tezde, bu adımlar münferit örneklerle incelenmiştir. Kütüphanelerin dijitalleşen çağa ayak uydurup zamansız olarak varlığını sürdürebilmesi için bahsi geçen yöntem ve stratejilerle sınırlı kalmamak üzere bu tasarım haritasının sürekli güncellenmesi gerekmektedir. Başka bir deyişle, yaşam boyu öğrenme felsefesinin kütüphane kimliği tarafından da benimsenmesi binanın yaşam döngüsü açısından faydalı olacaktır.

When discussing the concepts of“education”and“teaching”, conventional educational institutions, such as schools, typically come to mind. However, libraries also make a significant contribution to public education. Learning theories in educational sciences are dynamic and consistently updated to remain current. It is essential that any location that facilitates learning activities is cognizant of these trends and incorporates them into its philosophy of education. To establish the foundation for innovative library design, it is necessary to understand the zeitgeist and the current requirements of users. This study aims to examine 5 different innovative education methods (Active Learning, Self-Learning, Flipped Learning, MAKER and STEM and Gamification), evaluate their applicability concerning design criteria such as flexibility, sustainability, ergonomics, accessibility, spatial diversity and offer an updated design pathway for library buildings. As a result of the thesis, it was concluded that the building needs some architectural reflexes and structures in order to implement innovative education methods. It is impossible to implement the mentioned educational methods in a traditional structure consisting only of reading rooms. Therefore, the formation of a library that has spatial flexibility, does not compromise on ergonomic standards during this transition, has integrated the philosophy of sustainability into its structure not only physically but also theoretically, overcomes not only physical but also social obstacles, breaks the structure of library buildings consisting of silent reading rooms and is open to spatial diversity, is both formal and formal. It defines the steps that need to be taken to both support and direct education. In the thesis, these steps are examined with individual examples. In order for libraries to keep up with the digital age and maintain their timeless existence, this design map must be constantly updated, not limited to the mentioned methods and strategies. In other words, adopting the philosophy of lifelong learning by the library identity will be beneficial for the life cycle of the building.
