Özet

Bu çalışmada, felsefe dallarından ahlak felsefesi, fizik, metafizik, zihin felsefesi zemininde irade ve irade özgürlüğünün maddeyle olan ilişkisi ele alınacaktır. Çalışmamızın kapsamını genişletmek için de modern bilim dallarından nörobiyoloji, tartışmalarımızın odak noktası olacaktır. Dolayısıyla insan zihnini ve zihnin ortaya koyduğu değerleri nörobilim-etik ekseninde tartışmak temel hedefimiz olacaktır. Tezimizin temelinde iki kavram yer alacaktır: irade ve madde. Zaman zaman bu kavramların yerine bu kavramları karşılayabilecek, söz gelimi irade yerine zihin, beyin, bilinç gibi kavramlar; madde yerine atom, dış dünya ve evren gibi kavramlar kullanılacaktır. İrade konusu, düşünce tarihinin önemli bir bölümünü oluşturduğundan tezin tüm bölümlerinde, farklı açılardan ele alınarak kullanılacaktır. Tezimizde iradenin düşünce tarihindeki tartışmalar bağlamındaki yeri, etik açısından ele alınması, iradenin nörobiyolojik yönleri, zaman ve dış dünya ile bağlantıları ayrı ayrı incelenecektir. Antik Yunan'dan beri felsefe tarihinin en temel başlıklarından biri olan madde konusu, maddenin canlılığı nasıl türettiği ve maddeden zihnin ya da iradenin nasıl açığa çıktığı, 'Beyin Yaşam İlişkisi Bağlamında İradenin Kaynağı' başlıklı ikinci bölümde ağırlıklı olmak üzere, tezin geneline yayılmış durumdadır. Tezimizin temel amacı, düşünce tarihinin, modern bilimin ve iç dünyamızın ana soru ve sorunları olan irade, benlik, bilinç ve zihin gibi unsurları kavramsal olarak farklılık ve benzerlikleri açısından ele almaktır. Bunu yaparken madde ve dış dünyayı göz önünde bulundurmayı ve bu konularla ilgili literatüre katkı sağlamayı hedefliyoruz.

In this study, the relationship between will and freedom of will and matter will be discussed on the basis of philosophy, moral philosophy, physics, metaphysics, and philosophy of mind. In order to expand the scope of our study, neurobiology, a modern branch of science, will be the focus of our discussions. Therefore, our main target will be to discuss the human mind and the values it reveals on the axis of neuroscience-ethics. There will be two concepts at the core of our thesis: will and matter. From time to time, concepts such as mind, brain, and consciousness will be used instead of will; concepts such as atom, external world, and universe will be used instead of matter. Since the subject of will constitutes an important part of the history of thought, it will be used in all sections of the thesis from different perspectives. In our thesis, the place of will in the context of discussions in the history of thought, its consideration in terms of ethics, the neurobiological aspects of will, and its connections with time and the external world will be examined separately. The subject of matter, one of the most fundamental topics in the history of philosophy since ancient Greece, how matter derives life and how mind or will emerge from matter, is prevalent throughout the thesis, with a focus on the second section titled 'The Source of Will in the Context of the Brain-Life Relationship'. The main purpose of our thesis is to address the main questions and problems of the history of thought, modern science and our inner world, such as will, self, consciousness and mind, in terms of their conceptual differences and similarities. While doing this, we aim to take matter and the external world into consideration and contribute to the literature on these topics.
