Özet
Bu çalışma kapsamında, insanlık tarafından bilinen en önemli hayır kurumlarından biri olan vakıflar üzerine konuşulmuştur. Vakıflar, İslam toplumlarının tarihinde, Osmanlı Devleti'ne kadar büyük bir etki yapmış ve Osmanlı Devleti, Vakıf kurumlarına büyük önem göstermiştir. Bu durum, geniş coğrafi alan boyunca Osmanlı toplumlarında vakıfların büyük bir etki yaratmasına ve öncü bir rol oynamasına yol açmıştır. Ancak bu büyük etki ve vakfın öncü rolü, Halep'te belirgin bir şekilde ortaya çıkmıştır. Halep, en önemli Osmanlı şehirlerinden biri olarak kabul edilir ve vakıf, kentin kentsel haritasını değiştirecek kadar etkili olmuş, ayrıca kentin ticari ve sosyal yapısı üzerinde de etkisi olmuştur. Bu nedenle, 19. yüzyılda Halep'teki şer'iyye mahkemelerinin kayıtları olan üç muhasebe defteri incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme, bu kayıtlarda yer alan Vakıf gelir ve giderlerinin muhasebesini gözden geçirerek, vakıfların gelir ve gider türlerini belirlemeyi ve etkinlikleri ile faaliyetlerine ulaşmayı amaçlamıştır. Bu Vakıf muhasebe rakamlarının şer'iyye kayıtlarında incelenmesi ve değerlendirilmesi yoluyla, Osmanlı döneminde Halep'te vakfın büyük rol oynadığı, hem medenî ve kentsel dönüşüm açısından hem ekonomik açıdan hem de toplumsal hayır ve kalkınma açısından kanıtlanmıştır.

Through this study, one of the most important charitable institutions known to humanity, the waqf, has been discussed. Waqfs had a significant impact on the lives of Islamic societies throughout their history, up to the Ottoman state, which paid great attention to waqf institutions. This attention created a substantial impact and a leading role for waqfs in Ottoman societies across their vast geographical span. However, this great impact and the leading role of the waqf were particularly evident in the city of Aleppo, which was considered one of the most important Ottoman cities. In Aleppo, the waqf influenced the city to the extent that it altered the urban landscape map, as well as its commercial and social aspects. Therefore, three accounting books from the Sharia courts' records of Aleppo in the nineteenth century were studied. This was done by reviewing the accounting of waqf expenditures and incomes recorded in these registers, identifying the types of waqf incomes and expenditures, with the aim of reaching their effectiveness and activities. By reviewing and evaluating the accounting figures of these waqfs recorded in the Sharia registers, the significant role played by the waqf in the city of Aleppo during the Ottoman era was proven, both in terms of civil and urban transformation, as well as economically, and philanthropically and developmentally in the society.
