Özet
Bu çalışmada, 1839-1908 tarihleri arasında roman türünün özelliklerinin tamamını yahut bir kısmını taşıdığı tespit edilebilen tefrikalar da dâhil olmak üzere Türkiye'nin ve yabancı üniversitelerin kütüphanelerinin ve uluslararası kütüphanelerin veri tabanları, kaynakçaları taranarak 247 eser belirlenmiştir. Oluşturulan bibliyografyadaki eserlerden 133'ü iktisadi kalkınma fikriyle ilişkilendirilerek bu çalışma kapsamında incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde roman türünün Türk edebiyatına girişi, ilk tercüme eserler dikkate alınarak değerlendirilmiş ve bu çevirilerin romancılardaki iktisadi kalkınma fikrinin zeminini oluşturma, roman türünü tanıma üzerindeki tesiri ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde kalkınma kavramı ve Osmanlı Devleti'nin iktisadi kalkınmasına dair sorun teşkil eden hususlar tarihî bir bakış açışıyla değerlendirilmiş, Türk romanındaki tesirlerini tespit edebilmek maksadıyla devrin iktisadi arayışları ve çözüm önerilerine temas edilmiştir. Çalışmanın son bölümünde ise belirlenmiş romanlarda göze çarpan iktisadi fikirlere göre sınıflandırma yapılmıştır. Çalışarak para kazanan müspet tiplerin şahsi iktisadi kalkınmalarını temin ettikleri geçim yolları ve meslekleri dikkate alınmıştır. Çalışmadan, kolay yoldan para kazanan menfi tiplerin öne çıktığı eserlerdeki serveti temin yollarına göre alt başlıklar oluşturulmuştur. Serveti tüketme yolları için de ayrıca yine Batılı yaşam tarzının temsil edildiği noktalar dikkate alınmıştır. Şahsi iktisadi kalkınma fikrinden bir adım ileriye giden ve içtimai kalkınma fikrine hizmet eden müspet tiplerin ideal özelliklerine göre İçtimai Kalkınma Yolları başlığı oluşturulmuştur. Yazarların bilhassa müspet ve menfi tipler üzerinden yaptıkları karşılaştırmalar ve aynı devirde eser kaleme alan yazarların ilettiği fikirler tarihi bir sırayla ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca tefrika edilmiş ancak süreli yayınlarda unutulmuş 13 eser bu çalışma kapsamında incelenmiş, Latin esaslı Türk alfabesine aktarılmayan eserler iktisadi kalkınma fikriyle ilişkilendirilerek değerlendirilmiştir. Önce tefrika edilen daha sonra basılan eserlerin tefrika tarihleri dikkate alınarak devrin genel iktisadi fikir hareketlerini tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında romanların olay örgüsüne tesiri ve iktisadi kalkınma fikriyle ilişki kurmayı mümkün kılması şartıyla ikincil tipler de dikkate alınmış ve bu vasıtayla aynı eserler ihtiyaç dâhilinde birden fazla alt başlık altında farklı yönleriyle incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma doğrultusunda 37 yazarın 133 eseri iktisadi kalkınma fikri, iktisadi arayışlar ve Osmanlı Devleti'nin mevcut ihtiyaçları, sıkıntıları, amaçlarıyla tarihî ve iktisadi bilgilerden de faydalanılarak bir arada ele alınmıştır.

In this study, 247 works were identified by scanning the databases and bibliographies of libraries of Turkish and foreign universities, as well as international libraries, including feuilletons, that could be identified as having all or some characteristics of the novel genre from 1839-1908.133 of the works in the created bibliography were included in this study by associating them with the idea of economic development. In the first part of the study, the introduction of the novel genre to Turkish literature was evaluated by considering the first translated works, and the impact of these translations on laying the foundations of the idea of economic development at novelists and on familiarizing them with the novel genre was discussed. In the second part, the concept of development and the problematic issues regarding the economic development of the Ottoman Empire were evaluated from a historical perspective, and the economic pursuits and solution proposals of the period were touched upon in order to determine their influence on the Turkish novel. In the last part of the study, a classification was made according to the economic ideas that stand out in the selected novels. The livelihoods and professions of positive types who earn money by working to ensure their personal economic development have been taken into consideration. Subheadings have been created according to the ways of obtaining wealth in the works in which negative types who do not work and earn money easily come to the fore. For the ways of consuming wealth, points where the Western lifestyle is represented were also taken into consideration. The title of Social Development Paths was created according to the ideal characteristics of positive types that go one step further than the idea of Personal Economic Development and serve the idea of social development. The comparisons made by the authors, especially on positive and negative types, and the ideas conveyed by the authors who wrote works in the same period are discussed in a historical order. In addition, 13 works that were serialized but forgotten in periodicals were examined within the scope of this study, and the works that were not translated into Latin letters were evaluated in relation to the idea of economic development. It was aimed to determine the general economic intellectual movements of the period by taking into account the serialization dates of the works that were first serialized and then published. Within the scope of the study, secondary genres were also taken into account, provided that they affected the plot of the novels and allowed them to relate to the idea of economic development and if it is necessary the same work examined from different aspects under more than one subheading. In line with this study, 133 works of 37 authors were discussed together with the idea of economic development, economic pursuits and the current needs, troubles and purposes of the Ottoman Empire, making use of historical and economic information.
