Özet
Amaç: Bu araştırma, infertil kadınların stres ve umutsuzluk düzeyleri ile belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlükleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı türde tasarlanan araştırma, 01/07/2023-01/07/2024 tarihleri arasında yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın evrenini, İstanbul'da bulunan bir kadın ve çocuk hastalıkları eğitim ve araştırma hastanesinin infertilite polikliniğine belirtilen tarih aralığında başvuran infertil kadınlar oluşturmuştur (N=1526). Örnekleme, araştırmaya katılma kriterlerini karşılayan 320 infertil kadın dahil edilmiştir. Veriler; Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Algılanan Stres Ölçeği (ASÖ). Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği (BUÖ) ve Belirsizliğe Tahammülsüzlük Ölçeği (BTÖ) ile toplanmıştır. Objective: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between stress and hopelessness levels and intolerance of uncertainty in infertile women. Materials and Method: The descriptive and correlational study was conducted between 01/07/2023-01/07/2024. The population of the study consisted of infertile women (N=1526) who applied to the infertility outpatient clinic of a gynecology and pediatrics training and research hospital in Istanbul within the specified date range. The sample included 320 infertile women who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using Personal Information Form, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS) and Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale (IUS). t test, Mann-Whitney U test for two group comparisons, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test for more than two group comparisons, and Spearman correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the relationship between variables. Results: The mean age of the women who participated in the study was 31.5 (±5.44) years. It was determined that the women wanted to have a child for an average of 51.2 (±40.30) months and had been receiving infertility treatment for an average of 32.6 (±33.80) months. According to the findings, it was determined that various sociodemographic and obstetric characteristics of the women created statistically significant differences on the scales. In the correlation analyses, it was found that there was a positive and moderate correlation between the total score of the PSS and the total score of the BHS, while there was a positive and low correlation between the total score of the IUS and the total score of the PSS. A positive and low-level correlation was found between the total scores of the IUS and the BHS. Additionally, the findings revealed a significant relationship between stress, hopelessness levels, and intolerance of uncertainty in women undergoing infertility treatment, with the relationship explaining 27.5% of the variance in the variables Conclusion: This study demonstrated that there are significant relationships between stress, hopelessness, and intolerance of uncertainty levels in infertile women. In order to effectively manage the emotional states experienced by women undergoing treatment, the integration of counseling and supportive interventions by midwives and nurses into the treatment process may contribute to increased treatment success.
