Özet
Kapitalist yaşam şeklinin toplumun tüketim pratiklerinde yarattığı değişiklikler, arzuların isteklere, isteklerin ise ihtiyaçlara dönüşmesini sağlamaktadır. Tüketim kültürü, bu dönüşüm sürecinin merkezinde yer almakta ve bireylerin faydacı bir tutum geliştirerek tüketimi temel yaşam amacı haline getirmelerine neden olmaktadır. Tüketime konu olan kaynaklardan biri de çevresel unsurlardır. Turizm sektörünün de temel çekicilik unsurlarından biri olan çevre, turizm faaliyetlerinin bir destinasyondaki genişliğini etkilemektedir. Zaman içerisinde turist akışının fazlalaşmasıyla çevresel kaynakların taşıma kapasitesi azalmakta ve kaynaklar üzerindeki baskı artmaktadır. Çevresel kaynaklar üzerindeki baskıya rağmen yerel halk bazen turizmden sağladığı ekonomik kazancı devam ettirebilmek için bu kaynakları kullanmaya devam edebilmekte ve çevrenin metalaştırılmasına izin verebilmektedir. Bu kapsamda bu araştırmanın amacı, tüketim kültürünün hegemonyası altında yerel halkın çevresel tüketim yaklaşımının turizme yönelik çevresel tutumu ve çevresel fedakârlığı üzerindeki etkisinin araştırılmasıdır. Amaca bağlı olarak bu araştırma ilişkisel tarama modeli ile tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmada veriler Ocak 2024- Nisan 2024 tarihleri arasında kolayda örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak, Kütahya'da yüz yüze 583 kişiye anket uygulanarak toplanmıştır. Araştırmada verilerin analiz edilmesinde betimleyici istatistikler, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi, yapısal eşitlik modeli, yol analizi ile regresyon testlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre (i) yerel halkın çevresel tüketim yaklaşımlarının hem çevre merkezci hem de insan merkezci anlayışa yönelik orta düzeyde bir eğilime sahip olduğu, (ii) yerel halkın çevresel tüketim yaklaşımlarının turizme yönelik çevresel tutumları üzerinde bir etkisinin olduğu, (iii) yerel halkın çevresel tüketim yaklaşımlarının turizme yönelik çevresel fedakârlıkları üzerinde bir etkisinin olduğu, (iv) yerel halkın turizme yönelik çevresel tutumunun çevresel fedakârlıkları üzerinde etkisi olduğu ve (v) yerel halkın turizme yönelik çevresel fedakârlıklarının çevresel tutumlarına etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The changes created by the capitalist way of life in the consumption practices of the society enable the transformation of desires into wants and wants into needs. Consumption culture is at the centre of this transformation process and causes individuals to develop a utilitarian attitude and make consumption the main purpose of life. One of the resources subject to consumption is environmental elements. The environment, which is one of the main attraction factors of the tourism sector, affects the extent of tourism activities in a destination. As the flow of tourists increases over time, the carrying capacity of environmental resources decreases and the pressure on resources increases. Despite the pressure on environmental resources, local people sometimes continue to use these resources and allow the commodification of the environment in order to maintain the economic gains from tourism. In this context, the aim of this research is to investigate the effect of environmental consumption approach of local people on their environmental attitude towards tourism and environmental sacrifice under the hegemony of consumer culture. Depending on the purpose, this research was designed with the relational survey model. The data were collected by applying a face-to-face questionnaire to 583 people in Kütahya between January 2024 and April 2024 using convenience sampling method. Descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modelling, path analysis, regression tests were used to analyse the data. According to the results of the study, it was determined that (i) local people's environmental consumption behaviours have a moderate tendency towards both ecocentric and anthropocentric understanding, (ii) local people's environmental consumption behaviours have an effect on their environmental attitudes towards tourism, (iii) local people's environmental consumption behaviours have an effect on their environmental sacrifices towards tourism, (iv) local people's environmental attitudes towards tourism have an effect on their environmental sacrifices and (v) local people's environmental sacrifices towards tourism have an effect on their environmental attitudes.
