Özet
Estetik yargıya dair felsefi tartışmalar esas olarak modern dönemde ele alınmaya başlanmış; bu yargının yalnızca öznel hazlara mı dayandığı, yoksa belirli bilgi koşullarında temellendirilebilir bir yapıya mı sahip olduğu sorusu, felsefi düşüncenin temel meselelerinden biri haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışma, estetik yargının bilişsel temellerini, gerekçelendirme biçimlerini ve bilgi değeri taşıyıp taşımadığını sorgulamaktadır. Bu amaçla estetik yargının doğası, bireysel deneyimle ilişkisi, kültürel ve tarihsel koşullardaki görünüm biçimleri felsefi düzlemde çözümlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada, erken modern felsefenin temsilcileri olan Locke, Hutcheson, Hume, Kant, Hegel ve Nietzsche'den başlayarak, yirminci yüzyılda estetik düşünceye yön veren Heidegger, Adorno, Danto ve Margolis'e kadar uzanan bir düşünce çizgisi doğrultusunda estetik yargının kavramsal çerçevesi, epistemik ve ontolojik temelleri karşılaştırmalı olarak ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda estetik yargının duyu, sezgi, kavrayış ve eleştiriyle olan ilişkisi kadar, tarihsel süreklilik içindeki dönüşümüne de dikkat çekilmiştir. Estetik yargının epistemolojik karakteri hem bireyin bilişsel yetileri hem de içinde bulunduğu kültürel ortam ve tarihsel bağlamla kurduğu ilişkiler çerçevesinde değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak bu tez, estetik yargının ne yalnızca öznel bir haz deneyimi ne de toplumsal koşullarla şekillenen göreli bir oluşum olduğunu; aksine bilişsel, kültürel ve tarihsel etkenlerin etkileşimiyle meydana gelen çok katmanlı bir yapı arz ettiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Estetik yargının bu çok boyutlu doğası, onu epistemolojik bir çözümleme nesnesi olarak ele almayı hem mümkün hem de gerekli kılmaktadır.

Philosophical discussions on aesthetic judgment began to take shape primarily in the modern period. The question of whether such judgment is based solely on subjective pleasure or can be substantiated under specific epistemic conditions has become one of the central issues of philosophical inquiry. This study investigates the cognitive foundations of aesthetic judgment, its modes of justification, and whether it possesses epistemic value. To this end, the nature of aesthetic judgment, its relation to individual experience, and its manifestations within cultural and historical contexts are analyzed on a philosophical basis. The study comparatively examines the conceptual, epistemological, and ontological foundations of aesthetic judgment along a philosophical trajectory that begins with early modern thinkers such as Locke, Hutcheson, Hume, Kant, Hegel, and Nietzsche, and extends to twentieth-century figures who have significantly shaped aesthetic theory, including Heidegger, Adorno, Danto, and Margolis. Within this framework, attention is paid to the relationship between aesthetic judgment and sense perception, intuition, understanding, and critique, as well as to its transformation within the continuity of historical development. The epistemological character of aesthetic judgment is assessed through the interplay between the individual's cognitive capacities and the cultural and historical contexts in which these judgments arise. Ultimately, the thesis argues that aesthetic judgment is neither a purely subjective experience of pleasure nor a relative construct shaped exclusively by social conditions; rather, it constitutes a multilayered structure shaped by the interaction of cognitive, cultural, and historical dimensions. This complex nature of aesthetic judgment renders its epistemological analysis both possible and necessary.
