Özet
Hamit Fendoğlu siyasi hayatı boyunca bölgesel etkisi sebebiyle hem adını hem de namını Türk siyasetinde üst sıralara taşımayı başarmıştır. Beydağı'nın Hamidosu çok partili hayata geçiş döneminde siyasi yönüyle ön plana çıkan insanlardan olmuş, Malatya'dan DP ile siyaset hayatına atılmıştır. Bilindiği üzere Türkiye'nin en puslu yıllarını içeren 1960-80 arası dönem, darbeler dönemidir. Bu tarihler arası rastlantısal olarak Hamit Fendoğlu'nun da ününün arttığı, halkın kendisini daha çok sevdiği dönem olmuştur. Fendoğlu, kendisine gönderilen bombalı paketin infilak etmesi sonucunda 17 Nisan 1978 tarihinde hayatını kaybetmiştir. Gelini ve iki torununun da hayatını kaybettiği bu suikast uzun yıllar hafızalardan silinmemiştir. Yapılan saldırı sonucu, vatan ve millet mefhumlarına gönülden bağlı bir Türk evladı yaşamdan koparılmıştır. Hamit Fendoğlu Türk demokrasi tarihinin en önemli gelişmelerinin ve sorunlarının yaşandığı dönemde, Türkiye'de genel ve yerel siyasette önemli hizmetlerde bulunmuş bir siyasi figür olmuştur. Onun siyasi karakteri yıllar geçse de Türk Milleti'nin hafızasında önemli bir yer tutmuştur. Çalışmada Hamit Fendoğlu'nun hayatı, fikir ve düşünce yapısı, siyasete bakış açısı ve bunların yerel siyasetteki etkileri analiz edilmiştir. Ayrıca Hamit Fendoğlu'na karşı işlenen cinayeti ve cinayetin yankılarına ilişkin bilgiler verilmiştir. Çalışma vücuda getirilirken dönemle ilgili arşiv belgelerinden ve telif-tetkik eserlerden faydalanılmıştır. Yine konuyla ilgili yerel ve ulusal gazeteler de çalışmanın kaynakları arasında yer almıştır.

Hamit Fendoğlu has managed to bring both his name and reputation to the top ranks in Turkish politics due to his regional influence throughout his political life. Hamido of Beydağı was one of the people who came to the fore with his political side during the transition period to multi-party life, and he entered politics with the Democrat Party from Malatya. As is known, the period between 1960 and 1980, which included the haziest years in Turkey, was the period of coups. Coincidentally, these dates were also the period when Hamit Fendoğlu's fame increased and the people loved him more. Fendoğlu lost his life on April 17, 1978, as a result of the explosion of a package bomb sent to him. This assassination attack, in which his daughter-in-law and two grandchildren lost their lives, could not be erased from memory for many years. As a result of the attack, a Turkish child who was devoted to the concepts of homeland and nation was deprived of his life. Hamit Fendoğlu was a political figure who provided important services in general and local politics in Turkey during the period when the most important developments and problems of Turkish Democracy History were experienced. Even though years have passed, his political character has held an important place in the memory of the Turkish Nation. In the study, Hamit Fendoğlu's life, his ideas and thought structure, his perspective on politics and their effects on local politics were analyzed. Additionally, information was provided regarding the murder committed against Hamit Fendoğlu and the repercussions of the murder. While creating this study, archive documents related to the period and copyrighted-research works were used. Local and national newspapers on the subject were also among the sources of the study.
