Özet
Bu tez, Wilhelm Dilthey ve Hans-Georg Gadamer'in hermeneutik felsefeleri aracılığıyla anlamanın doğası, tarihsel bilgi ve yorumlama süreçlerini incelemektedir. Çalışmanın temel amacı, Dilthey'ın epistemolojik temelli hermeneutik yaklaşımı ile Gadamer'in ontolojik temelli hermeneutiği arasındaki kuramsal farkları ortaya koymak ve bu farklılıkların tarih felsefesi ve insan bilimlerine sunduğu katkıyı tartışmaktır. İlk bölümde hermeneutiğin tarihsel kökenleriyle birlikte Dilthey'ın tin bilimlerine yönelik temellendirme çabası ele alınmış, anlamanın duyusal algının ötesinde tarihsel yaşantı, empati ve metinsel açımlama süreçleriyle mümkün olduğu gösterilmiştir. İkinci bölümde Gadamer'in Dilthey eleştirisi üzerinden hermeneutiği bilgi kuramı düzeyinden varlık düzeyine taşıma girişimi incelenmiştir. Gelenek, önyargı, tarihsel etki bilinci ve dil gibi kavramlar bağlamında Gadamer'in anlamayı bireyin ötesinde, tarihsel ve kültürel bir etkileşim olarak konumlandırdığı ortaya konmuştur. Tez, anlamanın yalnızca bireysel bilinçle sınırlı bir faaliyet olmadığı, aksine geleneğin, önyargının ve dilin içkin etkileriyle şekillenen tarihsel bir süreç olduğunu savunmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma, modern felsefede anlam, tarih ve bilgi sorununa hermeneutik bir derinlik kazandırmayı amaçlamaktadır.

This thesis examines the nature of understanding, historical knowledge, and the processes of interpretation through the hermeneutic philosophies of Wilhelm Dilthey and Hans-Georg Gadamer. The primary objective of this study is to reveal the theoretical differences between Dilthey's epistemologically based hermeneutic approach and Gadamer's ontologically based hermeneutics, and to discuss the contributions these differences offer to the philosophy of history and the human sciences. The first section examines the historical roots of hermeneutics, along with Dilthey's efforts to ground it in the spiritual sciences, demonstrating that understanding transcends sensory perception through processes of historical experience, empathy, and textual interpretation. The second section examines Gadamer's attempt to move hermeneutics from the epistemological level to the existential level through his critique of Dilthey. It demonstrates that Gadamer positions understanding beyond the individual as a historical and cultural interaction, addressing concepts such as tradition, prejudice, historical influence, and language. The thesis argues that understanding is not an activity confined to individual consciousness, but rather a historical process shaped by the inherent influences of tradition, prejudice, and language. In this context, the study aims to add hermeneutic depth to the problems of meaning, history, and knowledge in modern philosophy.
