Özet
Tekstil ve Moda Tasarımı lisans programlarının hedefi, sektörün ihtiyaç duyduğu bilgi ve becerilere sahip tasarımcılar yetiştirmektir. Bu hedef doğrultusunda, ders planında yaratıcı fikir geliştirmeye odaklanan giysi tasarım projeleri bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırma, öğrencilerin tema bağlamında tasarım fikri geliştirme süreçlerinin analizi için giysi tasarımı eğitimindeki kavramsal model içeren tasarım projelerine odaklanmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında, tasarım amacının verilmesinden eskizlerin tamamlanmasına kadar olan giysi tasarımının 'erken evresi'ni içeren fikir geliştirme süreci ele alınmaktadır. Özellikle, kavramsal bir tasarım projesinde bu evrenin keşfi, verilen yön bilgi çerçevesinde öğrencilerin uyguladıkları anlama, empati kurma, tanımlama, fikir üretme ve prototip eylemlerinin açıklanması bakımından önemlidir. Araştırmanın amacı, giysi tasarım sürecinin erken evresini destekleyici tema, yön bilgi ve proje bileşenlerine bağlı unsurlar doğrultusunda öğrencilerin tasarım fikirlerini nasıl kurguladıklarının keşfedilmesidir. Araştırma kapsamında, nitel araştırma yöntemi ve durum çalışması deseni benimsenmiştir. Çalışma grubu, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi, Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi, Tekstil ve Moda Tasarım Bölümü'nde, 2023-2024 Eğitim-Öğretim yılında son sınıfta öğrenim gören on öğrenci olarak belirlenmiştir. Koleksiyon Hazırlama dersinde yürütülen araştırmaya dayalı tasarım projesi ve ders dışında planlanan kısa süreli tasarım projesi uygulanmıştır. Öğrenci görüşmeleri tematik kodlama ve içerik analiziyle, fikir geliştirme süreci gözlem ve doküman analiziyle, uzmanların değerlendirmeleri ise tanımlayıcı istatistik kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın çıktıları, öğrenciler için tasarım projelerini daha bilinçli yönetmelerine; eğitim için niteliğin artırılmasına, sektör için beklentileri karşılayabilecek yaratıcı mezunlar yetiştirilmesine katkı sunmaktadır. Ayrıca, araştırma fikir geliştirme sürecinin erken evresini keşfetmeye odaklanmasıyla literatürdeki boşluğu doldurmaktadır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, giysi tasarımında tema ve yön bilgisinin öğrencilerin fikir geliştirme süreçlerine olan etkileri belirlenmiş ve erken tasarım evresine ilişkin bir model önerisi sunulmuştur.

The aim of Textile and Fashion Design undergraduate programs is to educate well-equipped designers who possess the knowledge and skills required by the industry. In line with this aim, the curriculum includes garment design projects that focus on the development of creative ideas. This research focuses on design projects incorporating conceptual models in garment design education in order to analyze students' processes of developing design ideas within the context of a theme. Within the scope of the study, the idea development process encompassing the“early phase”of garment design from the presentation of the design objective to the completion of sketches is examined. In particular, exploring this phase within a conceptual design project is important for explaining the actions of understand, empathy, define, idea generation and prototype that students perform within the framework of the given design brief. The aim of the research is to explore how students construct their design ideas in line with theme, direction, and Project component–based elements that support the early phase of the garment design process. A qualitative research method and case study design were adopted. The study group consisted of ten senior-year students enrolled in the Textile and Fashion Design Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University during the 2023-2024 academic year. A research-based design project conducted within the Collection Preparation course and a short-term design project planned outside of course were implemented. Student interviews were analyzed through thematic coding and content analysis; the idea development process was analyzed through observation and document analysis; and expert evaluations were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The outputs of the research contribute to enabling students to manage their design projects more consciously, to improving the quality of education, and to training creative graduates who can meet industry expectations. In addition, by focusing on exploring the early phase of the idea development process, the study fills a gap in the literature. As a result of the research, the impact of design brief and theme on students' idea development processes in garment design were identified, and a model proposal for the early design phase was presented.
