Özet
Dokuzuncu yüzyıl Bağdat'ının ilmi atmosferinde yetişen Haris el-Muhâsibî'nin hayatını ve tasavvuf anlayışını konu edinen bu tez, müellifin İslam düşünce tarihi üzerindeki etkisini sistematik bir çerçevede ele almaktadır. Çalışmanın kapsamı, Muhâsibî'nin entelektüel çevresini, çağdaşı olan âlimlerle etkileşimini ve günümüze ulaşan temel eserlerini içerecek şekilde belirlenmiştir. Tasavvufu aklî ve naklî temellere dayandıran Muhâsibî, Gazzâlî gibi isimleri etkileyen özgün mirasıyla bu araştırmanın bilimsel önemini ve odak noktasını oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın temel amacı, Muhâsibî'nin tasavvufu sadece dünyadan el çekmek değil, Allah için bir arınma ve kâmil ahlâka ulaşma yolu olarak sistemleştiren metodolojik yaklaşımını aydınlatmaktır. Sistematik ve analitik bir yöntemle yürütülen çalışmada, metin analizi ve tarihî çözümleme teknikleri kullanılarak; zühd, tevbe, takvâ ve özellikle düşüncesinin merkezinde yer alan“nefis muhasebesi”kavramları incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda tez, bireyin kendi benliğini denetleyerek ahlâkî dönüşümü nasıl gerçekleştirdiğini,“hâl ve makam”dengesi üzerinden teorik ve amelî bir disiplinle ortaya koymaktadır. Ulaşılan temel sonuçlar, Muhâsibî'nin hakiki ma'rifete ulaşmada akıl ve kalp birlikteliğini şart koştuğunu ve bu sürecin ancak kalbin tasfiyesiyle mümkün olabileceğini göstermektedir. Şathiyâttan bilinçli olarak uzak duran müellif,“havâtır”kavramına ve murakabe ile tasavvuf ilmine güçlü bir psikolojik derinlik kazandırmıştır. Sonuç olarak çalışma, Muhâsibî'nin ahlâkî ve metodolojik yaklaşımlarının, İslam düşünce geleneğinin bütününde kurucu ve dengeleyici bir rol oynadığını kanıtlamaktadır.

This thesis examines the life and mystical understanding of Haris al-Muhasibi, who flourished in the scholarly milieu of ninth-century Baghdad, and addresses his influence on the history of Islamic thought within a systematic framework. The scope of the study encompasses al-Muhasibi's intellectual environment, his interactions with contemporary scholars and Sufis, and his extant primary works. By establishing Sufism on both rational and scriptural foundations, al-Muhasibi constitutes the scholarly significance and focal point of this research through his unique legacy that influenced prominent figures such as al-Ghazali. The primary objective of this research is to elucidate al-Muhasibi's methodological approach, which systematizes Sufism not merely as an ascetic withdrawal from the world, but as a path of spiritual purification and the attainment of perfected morality for the sake of Allah. In this study, conducted through a systematic and analytical method, the concepts of asceticism, repentance, piety, and particularly“self-accounting”which lies at the heart of his thought are examined using textual analysis and historical deconstruction. In this context, the thesis demonstrates, through a theoretical and practical discipline based on the balance of“states and stations”, how individuals achieve moral transformation by monitoring their own souls. The primary findings indicate that al-Muhasibi necessitates the conjunction of reason and heart to reach true gnosis and demonstrates that this process is only possible through the purification of the heart. The author, who deliberately avoided ecstatic utterances, imparted a profound psychological depth to the science of Sufism through the concept of“passing thoughts”and watchfulness. Consequently, this study confirms that al-Muhasibi's moral and methodological approaches played a foundational and balancing role within the entirety of the Islamic intellectual tradition.
