Özet
Platon ile Aristoteles'in görüşleri arasındaki farklılıklar felsefe tarihinde en başından itibaren birçok filozofun ilgisini çekmiş ve iki filozofun arasındaki ilişkiyi uzlaştırma ya da çatışma perspektifinden ele alan çok sayıda girişim söz konusu olmuştur. Platon diyaloglarının kolayca bir öğreti çıkarmaya uygun olmayan yapısı ve Aristoteles'in açık ve örtük Platon eleştirileri de göz önüne alındığında, gelenek boyunca farklı ekol ve isimler felsefe alanının kurucusu olan bu iki filozofun görüşlerini uyumlu bir bütün olarak anlamlandırmaya çalışmıştır. Bu çalışmada, Akademia ve Lykeion'un ilk varislerinden başlayıp İslam felsefesinin klasik döneminin sonuna kadarki tarihsel aralıkta uzlaştırma meselesine yönelik bütünlüklü bir değerlendirme sunulmaktadır. Metinler, pozisyonlar ve tutumlar temelinde ilgili aralığa yönelik bir felsefe tarihi okuması yapılırken tüm bu tarihe yayılmış bir Aristotelesçileşme eğiliminin var olduğu ve söz konusu girişimlerin esas motivasyonunun bu olduğu iddia edilmektedir. İlk bölümde Yeni-Platonculuk öncesinde Platon-Aristoteles ilişkisinin nasıl ele alındığı ve daha sonra ortaya çıkan farklı eğilimlerin kökenleri tespit edilmeye, ikinci bölümde Yeni-Platonculuk dönemindeki uzlaştırma girişimlerinin aralarındaki benzerlik ve farklılıklar ele alınırken tüm Yunan geleneğinde belli hatlar belirlenmeye çalışılmaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde Yunan mirasının Arapçaya intikali sürecinde uzlaştırmaya yönelik gündem ve metinlerin akıbeti incelenmekte, dördüncü bölümde ise İslam felsefesi dahilinde farklı filozoflar ve metinlerdeki uzlaştırma girişimleri kaynakları, motivasyonları ve çıktıları bakımından değerlendirilmektedir.

The differences between the views of Plato and Aristotle have attracted the attention of numerous philosophers since the very beginning of the history of philosophy, and many attempts have been made to address the relationship between the two thinkers from the perspectives of either reconciliation or conflict. Given the fact that the structure of the Platonic dialogues does not easily lend itself to the extraction of a systematic doctrine, together with Aristotle's explicit and implicit criticisms of Plato, various schools and figures throughout the tradition have sought to interpret the philosophies of these two founders of the discipline as forming a coherent whole. This study presents a comprehensive evaluation of the problem of reconciliation/harmonization over a historical period extending from the earliest successors of the Academy and the Lyceum to the end of the classical period of Islamic philosophy. On the basis of texts, positions, and intellectual attitudes, it offers a reading in the history of philosophy of this entire period and argues that a pervasive tendency toward Aristotelianization runs throughout this history, constituting the principal motivation behind the attempts at reconciliation. The first chapter identifies how the relationship between Plato and Aristotle was treated prior to Neoplatonism and traces the origins of the different tendencies that later emerged. The second chapter examines the similarities and differences among the reconciliatory projects of the Neoplatonic period and seeks to determine certain structural lines across the entire Greek tradition. The third chapter investigates the fate of the agenda and the texts of harmonization in the process through which the Greek heritage was transmitted into Arabic. Finally, the fourth chapter evaluates the reconciliatory attempts within Islamic philosophy in terms of their sources, motivations, and outcomes, with reference to different philosophers and texts.
