Özet
Bu çalışma, Burdur'un Merkez İlçesi'nde faaliyet gösteren makine sanayisi sektörünün mevcut yapısını, gelişim süreçlerini, karşılaştığı temel sorunları ve bölge ekonomisine olan katkılarını incelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Burdur, coğrafi konumu ve zengin yer altı kaynakları, özellikle de tarım alanları ve mermer rezervleri sayesinde sanayileşme sürecinde kendine özgü bir rota çizmiştir. Bu bağlamda Merkez İlçedeki (Burdur) makine sanayisi, sadece genel imalat sanayisinin bir kolu olarak değil; bölgedeki mermer ve doğal taş madenciliğinin ve tarım sektörünün ihtiyaç duyduğu makine, yedek parça ve teknolojik altyapıyı sağlayan entegre bir sektör olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Araştırmanın metodolojisi kapsamında, Merkez İlçesi'nde (Burdur) aktif olarak faaliyet gösteren makine imalat işletmelerinden nicel ve nitel veriler toplanmıştır. Çalışmada, işletme yöneticileriyle yapılan mülakatlar, saha gözlemleri ve Sanayi ve Teknoloji Bakanlığı ile Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK) verileri analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler ışığında, ilçedeki makine sanayisinin büyük oranda Küçük ve Orta Büyüklükteki İşletmelerden oluştuğu ve sektörel yoğunlaşmanın“Tarım makineleri imalatı”üzerinde kümelendiği tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları, Burdur Merkez ilçesindeki makine sanayisinin yerel istihdama önemli bir katkı sağladığını ve son yıllarda Ar-Ge ile inovasyon çalışmalarına verilen önemle birlikte ihracat kapasitesini arttırdığını göstermektedir. Özellikle tarım makineleri ve silah üretim alanında üretilen yerli teknolojiler, sadece ulusal pazarda değil aynı zamanda uluslararası pazarlarda da rekabet edebilir düzeye ulaşmıştır. Ancak sektörün sürdürülebilir büyümesinin önünde; nitelikli iş gücü (ara eleman) eksikliği, organize sanayi bölgesindeki genişleme alanı yetersizlikleri, finansmana erişim zorlukları gibi temel bariyerler bulunmaktadır.

This study aimed to examine the current structure, development processes, main problems faced and contributions to the regional economy of the machinery industry sector operating in the Central District (Burdur). Burdur has drawn a unique route in the industrialization process thanks to its geographical location and rich underground resources, especially agricultural areas and marble reserves. In this context, the machinery industry in the Central District (Burdur) is not only a branch of the general manufacturing industry; It stands out as an integrated sector that provides the machinery, spare parts and technological infrastructure needed by the marble and natural stone mining and agricultural sector in the region. Within the scope of the methodology of the research, quantitative and qualitative data were collected from machinery manufacturing enterprises actively operating in the Central District (Burdur). In the study, interviews with business managers, field observations and data from the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) were analyzed. In the light of the data obtained, it has been determined that the machinery industry in the district consists of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises to a large extent and the sectoral concentration is clustered on“Agricultural machinery manufacturing”. The research findings show that the machinery industry in Burdur Central district makes a significant contribution to local employment and has increased its export capacity with the importance given to R&D and innovation studies in recent years. Domestic technologies produced especially in the field of agricultural machinery and weapon production have reached a level that can compete not only in the national market but also in international markets. However, in front of the sustainable growth of the sector; There are main barriers such as lack of qualified workforce (intermediate staff), inadequacies of expansion space in the organized industrial zone, and difficulties in accessing finance.
