Özet
Modern dönemde esnek ve çok katmanlı bir yapı kazanan Selefîlik, belirli tarihsel ve entelektüel inşa süreçlerinin ürünüdür. Buradan hareketle bu çalışma, Reşîd Rızâ özelinde Selefîliğin etiyolojisini incelemektedir. Araştırmanın temel amacı, Rızâ'nın düşünsel dünyasında bir kimlik ifadesine dönüşen Selefîliği besleyen unsurları, Şam merkezli entelektüel hareketlilik, modernist düşünce ve Vehhâbîlik arasındaki etkileşim ekseninde analiz etmektir. Çalışma, Selefîliği teolojik bir söylem olmasının yanı sıra toplumsal bir olgu olarak ele almaktadır. Rızâ'nın toplumsal bağlamı karakteristik eğilimleri doğrultusunda okuyarak Selefîlik adı altında bir anlam haritası üretme sürecini ele alan bu çalışmada, Rızâ'nın serüveninde dağınık görünen olgusal parçaların, bütünlüklü bir kimliğe dönüşümünü izlemek üzere karakter çözümlemeci bir metot kullanılmıştır. Bu yöntem ışığında çalışma, Rızâ'nın düşünsel inşasında Abduh'un süreç dışına itilmesine karşı çıkmakla birlikte Abduh'un mutlak ve merkezî konumunun yeniden değerlendirilmesini hedeflemektedir. Böylelikle çalışma, selefî kimliğin oluşumunda Abduh öncesi tarihsel köklere ve Abduh'u müteakip tarihsel süreçlere müsavi derecede odaklanmaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular, siyasi konjonktürün getirdiği sorunsalda, Rızâ'nın Selefî düşüncesinin dört safhada incelenebilecek stratejik bir yaklaşımın ürünü olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca Rızâ'nın kurguladığı Selefîlik, farklı unsurlar arasında geçişkenliğe olanak sağlayan dinamik bir yapıdadır. Bu çalışma, Rızâ'nın selefî düşüncesinin metinlerin doğasından kaynaklanan bir zorunluluktan öte tarihsel şartlar, travmalar ve stratejik tercihler doğrultusunda şekillendirilmiş bilinçli bir entelektüel inşa faaliyeti olduğunu savunmaktadır.

Salafism, which has acquired a flexible and multi-layered structure in the modern period, is the product of specific historical and intellectual construction processes. Moving from this premise, this study examines the etiology of Salafism specifically through the case of Rashīd Riḍā. The primary objective of the research is to analyze the elements that nourished Salafism which transformed into an expression of identity in Riḍā's intellectual world, within the axis of interaction between Damascus-centered intellectual mobility, modernist thought, and Wahhābism. The study treats Salafism not only as a theological discourse but also as a social phenomenon. By examining the process of producing a map of meaning under the name of Salafism through Riḍā's reading of the social context in accordance with his characteristic tendencies, this study employs a character-analytical method to track the transformation of seemingly fragmented factual elements into a holistic identity throughout Riḍā's journey. In light of this method, the study opposes the exclusion of ʿAbduh from the process of Riḍā's intellectual construction, while simultaneously aiming to re-evaluate ʿAbduh's absolute and central position. Thus, the study focuses equally on the historical roots prior to ʿAbduh and the historical processes following ʿAbduh in the formation of Salafī identity. The findings reveal that, within the problematics brought about by the political conjuncture, Riḍā's Salafī thought is the product of a strategic approach that can be examined in four stages. Furthermore, the Salafism constructed by Riḍā possesses a dynamic structure that allows for permeability between different elements. This study argues that Riḍā's Salafī thought is far from being a necessity stemming from the nature of the texts themselves; rather, it is a conscious intellectual construction activity shaped by historical conditions, traumas, and strategic choices.
