Özet
Fen Bilimleri içerisinde soyut kavramlar barındırmaktadır. Soyut kavramların somutlaştırılarak öğrencilere verilmesi ve anlaşılmasının kolaylaştırılması uygun materyallerle mümkün olabilmektedir. Çizgi romanların, soyut kavramları somutlaştırıp kalıcılığı arttırdığına yönelik alanyazında çalışmalar bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırmada, Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli ele alınarak hazırlanmış çizgi roman destekli fen eğitiminin ortaokul 5. Sınıf kademesindeki toplam 50 öğrencinin“Kuvveti Tanıyalım”ünitesindeki ders başarılarına ve fen bilimleri dersine karşı tutumlarına etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırma için Web 2.0 araçlarından Pixton ile hazırlanmış ve uzman görüşü alınan üç farklı konuyu barındıran Fen Eğitimi Çizgi Romanları ile toplamda 24 ders saati boyunca ders anlatımı yapılmıştır. Bu ders anlatımları öncesi ve sonrasında öğrencilere uygulanan 10 soruluk“Kuvveti Tanıyalım Başarı Testi”ve 31 soruluk“Fen Bilimleri Tutum Ölçeği”ile veriler elde edilmiştir. Çizgi Roman destekli Fen Eğitiminin gerçekleştiği şubedeki 8 öğrenci xi ile yapılan görüşme soruları ile nitel değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen nicel veriler istatik programı yardımıyla; nitel veriler ise betimsel analiz ve içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; Çizgi Roman destekli Fen Eğitiminin öğrenci ders başarısında ve Fen Bilimleri Tutum Ölçeğinden elde edilen verilerde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin derse karşı tutumlarını olumlu etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Çizgi Roman ile Kuvveti Tanıyalım ünitesini öğrenen şubedeki 8 öğrenci ile yapılan görüşme sorularından elde edilen verilerden, öğrencilerin Fen Bilimleri dersinde çizgi roman kullanımının çoğunlukla olumlu olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The Science course includes many abstract concepts that students often find difficult to understand. Presenting these abstract concepts in a concrete manner and facilitating comprehension are possible through the use of appropriate instructional materials. The literature includes studies indicating that comics help concretize abstract concepts and enhance learning retention. In this study, the effects of comic- supported science education, designed in accordance with the Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Model, on the academic achievement of a total of 50 fifth-grade middle school students in the“Let's Get to Know Force”unit and on their attitudes toward the science course were examined. Within the scope of the study, instruction was carried out over a total of 24 class hours using Science Education Comics that included three different topics, were created with Pixton—one of the Web 2.0 tools—and were validated through expert opinions. Quantitative data were collected using the 10-item“Let's Get to Know Force Achievement Test”and the 31-item“Science Attitude Scale,”both xiii administered before and after the instructional process. In addition, qualitative data were obtained through interviews conducted with eight students from the class in which comic-supported science education was implemented. Quantitative data were analyzed using a statistical analysis program, while qualitative data were analyzed through descriptive analysis and content analysis methods. The findings revealed that comic-supported science education resulted in a statistically significant improvement in students' academic achievement and in their scores on the Science Attitude Scale. It was determined that students' attitudes toward the science course were positively affected. Furthermore, the data obtained from interviews with the students who learned the“Let's Get to Know Force”unit through comics indicated that the use of comics in science lessons was perceived as predominantly positive by the students.
