Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinde algılanan helikopter ebeveynlik ile üniversite öğrencilerinde gelecek kaygısı ve mental iyi oluş arasındaki ilişkide temel psikolojik ihtiyaçların tatmininin ve engellenmesinin aracı rolünü incelemektedir. Bu doğrultuda basit rastlantısal örnekleme tekniği kullanılarak 1064 katılımcıya ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma 18-30 yaş arasındaki üniversite öğrencileri ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış olan“Kişisel Bilgi Formu”,“Algılanan Helikopter Ebeveynlik Ölçeği”,“Temel Psikolojik İhtiyaçların Tatmini ve Engellenmesi Ölçeği”,“Üniversite Öğrencilerinde Gelecek Kaygısı Ölçeği”ve“Warwick-Edinburgh Mental İyi Oluş Ölçeği Kısa Formu”kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler IBM SPSS 26 istatistik yazılımı ve PROCESS makro uzantısı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre anneden algılanan helikopter ebeveynliğin mental iyi oluş ile negatif yönde, gelecek kaygısı ile pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişkiye sahip olduğu ve babadan algılanan helikopter ebeveynliğin ise yalnızca gelecek kaygısı ile pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişkiye sahip olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın bir diğer bulgusu ise hem anne hem de babadan algılanan helikopter ebeveynliğin temel psikolojik ihtiyaçların engellenmesi ile pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişkisi olduğu sonucudur. Yapılan aracılık analizleri sonucunda anneden algılanan helikopter ebeveynlik ile mental iyi oluş arasındaki ilişkide temel psikolojik ihtiyaçların tatmini ve engellenmesinin tam aracılık rolü üstlendiği ve anneden algılanan helikopter ebeveynlik ile üniversite öğrencilerinde gelecek kaygısı arasındaki ilişkide temel psikolojik ihtiyaçların tatmininin ve engellenmesinin kısmi aracılık rolü üstlendiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Babadan algılanan helikopter ebeveynlik ile mental iyi oluş arasındaki ilişkide temel psikolojik ihtiyaçların engellenmesinin dolaylı etkiye sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Babadan algılanan helikopter ebeveynlik ile üniversite öğrencilerinde gelecek kaygısı arasındaki ilişkide ise temel psikolojik ihtiyaçların engellenmesinin kısmi aracılık rolü bulunmaktadır. Araştırma sonuçları anne ve baba helikopter ebeveynliğinin üniversite öğrencilerinin gelecek kaygısı ve mental iyi oluşu üzerinde farklı mekanizmalar üzerinden işlediğini ortaya koymuştur.

The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of the satisfaction and frustration of basic psychological needs in the relationship between perceived helicopter parenting and future anxiety and mental well-being among university students. In this context, 1064 participants were reached through the simple random sampling technique. The study was conducted with university students between the ages of 18 and 30. As data collection tools, the“Personal Information Form”prepared by the researcher, the“Perceived Helicopter Parenting Scale,”the“Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction and Frustration Scale,”the“Future Anxiety Scale in University Students,”and the“Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale Short Form”were used. The obtained data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 26 statistical software and the PROCESS macro extension. According to the findings of the study, perceived helicopter parenting from the mother had a significant negative relationship with mental well-being and a significant positive relationship with future anxiety, while perceived helicopter parenting from the father had a significant positive relationship with future anxiety only. Another finding of the study is that perceived helicopter parenting from both the mother and the father had a significant positive relationship with the frustration of basic psychological needs. As a result of the mediation analyses, the satisfaction and frustration of basic psychological needs were found to play a full mediating role in the relationship between perceived helicopter parenting from mothers and mental well-being, and a partial mediating role in the relationship between perceived helicopter parenting from mothers and future anxiety. In the relationship between perceived helicopter parenting from fathers and mental well-being, the frustration of basic psychological needs was found to have an indirect effect. In the relationship between perceived helicopter parenting from fathers and future anxiety, the frustration of basic psychological needs was found to play a partial mediating role. The results of the study revealed that maternal and paternal helicopter parenting operate through different mechanisms in relation to university students' future anxiety and mental well-being.
