-54- 6. TÜRKÇE ÖZET Bu araştırma sodyum tuzlarının yumurta tavuklarında kullanılma olanaklarını belirlemek amacı ile yapıldı. Araştırmada toplam 200 adet 24 haftalık Hisex Brown yumurta tipi melez tavuk kullanıldı. Araştırma her biri 4-0 adet tavuktan oluşan 1 kontrol, 4 deneme olmak üzere toplam 5 grup halinde yürütüldü. Araştırma 4 ay sürdürüldü. Hayvan lar grup yemlemesine tabi tutulup, yem ad libitum verildi. Araştırma başında ve sonunda tavuklar tek tek tartıldı. Araştırma sonu canlı ağırlıklar kontrol, 1, 2, 3 ve 4. grup larda sırasıyla 1937.25, 1944.00, 1999-71, 1946.58 ve 1954.10 g olarak bulundu. Gruplar arasında canlı ağırlığın istatistik açıdan önemli olmadığı gözlemlendi. Araştırma süresince ortalama yumurta verimi kontrol, 1, 2, 3 ve 4. gruplarda sırasıyla % 90.20, 90.08, 86.94-1 89-53 ve 90.58 olarak bulundu. Rasyonunda sodyum asetat bulu nan 2. grupta yumurta veriminin, diğer gruplara göre istatis tiki açıdan önemli derecede (P

-56- 7. İNGİLİZCE ÖZET (SUMMARY) The Effects of Various Sodium Gaits Added to the Layer Rations on Blood Acid-Base Balance, Egg Production and Egg Quality. This study was carried out to determine the effects of sodium salts in laying hens. Totally 200 Hisex Brown Layer (24 weeks of age) were used. There was a control and four treament groups, each con taining 40 hens. The experiment lasted for a period of 4 months. They were fed in groups and feed was given ad libitum. The hens were individually weighed at the begining and at the end of the experiment. At the end of the experiment, the average body weights in control, 1, 2, 3 and 4. groups were found as 1937.25, 1944.00, 1999.71, 1946.58 and 1954.10 g respectively. There were no significant differences among groups in body weight. Total average hen day production in control, 1, 2, 3 and 4. groups were 90.20, 90.08, 86.94, 89.53 and 90.58 %, respectively. Egg production was significantly lower in 2. group received sodium acetate than the other groups (P^O.Ol). Total average daily feed consumptions of control, 1, 2, 3 and 4. groups were 127.75, 127.34, 128.68, 128.00 and 129.43 g and the feed consumptions for one dosen egg were 1.70, 1.70, 1.78, 1.72 and 1.72 kg, respectively. Feed con sumptions for one dosen egg in 2. group received sodium acetate was higher than the other groups. There were no significant differences in egg weight among groups.-57- Egg breaking strength and egg shell thickness were not statistically affected "by sodium salts during the experiment. At the end of the experiment, blood serum calcium and inorganic phosphorus levels in control, 1, 2, 3 and 4. groups were 37-02, 5-84; 34.72, 5-70; 35-38, 5-63; 32.94, 5.28 and 33-84, 6.28 mg/100 ml, respectively. Blood serum calcium was not affected by sodium salts. Except the last period, blood serum inorganic phosphorus was affected during the other period of the experiment by sodium salts. Blood serum potassium levels was not affected by sodium salts. At the end of the experiment, blood serum sodium and chloride levels in control, 1, 2, 3 and 4. groups were 151.82, 119.73; 153-59, 120.93; 153-05, 119-36; 148.50, 113.74 &nd 146.17, 117-18 mM/L, respectively. At the end of the experi ment, serum sodium levels in group received sodium sulfate and sodium phosphate were significantly lower than that of the other groups. At 29. week and at the end of the experi ment; serum chloride levels were significantly lower in 3« group than the other groups (P^O.01). At the end of the experiment, blood pH in control, 1, 2, 3 and 4. groups were found as 7-32, 7-35> 7-35» 7-36 and 7.34, respectively. The values of base-excess and bicarbonate ion were not significantly different among groups. Blood pH and total carbon dioxide were affect at some periods of the experiment by sodium salts in the rations. It is concluded that egg production and feed efficiency were significantly decreased by added sodium acetate in the-58- rations. There were no significant differences among groups in body weight, feed consumption, egg weight, egg breaking strength, egg shell thickness, blood serum calcium, potassium, blood base-excess and bicarbonate ion levels by sodium salts added to the rations.
