oz GERİLİMLİ ALLENLER: 1 -FENİLSİKLOPENTA- 1,2-DİEN SENTEZİ YALÇIN, SEHER Yüksek Lisans, Kimya Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi: Prof. Dr. Metin Balcı Ekim 2001, 90 sayfa Allenler doymamış hidrokarbonların önemli bir sınıfıdır. Literatürde bilinmeyen beş üyeli siklo ailenin sentezi gerçekleştirildi. Beş üyeli siklo aileni sentezlemek için öncü l-iodo-2-fenilsiklopentene literatürde bilinen yöntemlerle sentezlendi. Diğer öncü olan l-bromo-2-fenilsiklopenten'in sentezi başarısızlıkla sonuçlandı. 225 'in sentezi için 1-fenilsiklopenten (226) sentezlendi. Bu maddenin hidroborasyon reaksiyonundan sonra, PCC ile oksidasyonu sonucunda 2-fenilsiklopentanon (237) elde edildi. Hidrazin eklenmesi ile elde edilen hidrazon, NEt3 ortamında I2 ile muamele edilerek öncü madde 225 elde edildi.Öncü maddenin KOtBu ile olan reaksiyonu 240 °C de benzen içinde yapıldı. Aynı reaksiyon, dötero-benzen içinde yapılınca l-fenil-2-döterofenilsiklopenten elde edildi. Eğer çözücü olarak toluen kullanıldı ve 3,3'-difenil-bisiklopentil-2,2'-dien, 1- fenil-2-benzilsiklopenten ve bibenzil elde edildi. Bu maddelerin sentezlendiği 'H- NMR ve kütle spektroskopisi ile desteklendi. Bu maddelerin sentezi l-fenilsiklo-1,2- dien'in sentezinin gerçekleştirildiğini ispatlıyor.

ABSTRACT CYCLIC STRAINED ALLENES: SYNTHESIS OF CYCLOPENTA-l,2-DIENE DERIVATIVES YALÇIN, SEHER M.S. Department of Chemistry Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Metin BALCI September 2001, 90 pages Allenes are important class of unsaturated hydrocarbons. Five-membered cyclic ailene, which is unknown in the literature, has been synthesized. To synthesize five-membered ring ailene, precursor compound l-iodo-2- phenylcyclopentene has been synthesized by the known methods. The alternative precursor, l-bromo-2-phenylcyclopentene could not be synthesized. For the synthesis of precursor l-iodo-2-phenylcyclopentene we used 1- phenylcyclopentene (226) as the starting material. After hydroboration reaction of 1- phenylcyclopentene, followed by oxidation, 2-phenylcyclopentanone has been obtained in high yield. Treatment of this ketone with hydrazine monohydrate, NEt3 and I2 resulted in the formation of the precursor, l-iodo-2-phenylcyclopenten. mReaction of l-iodo-2-phenylcyclopenten with KOtBu in benzene at 240 °C gave 1,2- diphenylcyclopentene The formation mechanism of 1,2-diphenylcyclopentene has been discussed in terms of the cyclic ailene l-phenylcyclopenta-l,2-diene. The same experiment was carried out also in cfe-benzene. When toluene was used as solvent, 3,3'-diphenyl-bicyclopentyl-2,2'-diene, l-benzyl-2-phenylcyclopentene and biphenyl were obtained and 'H-NMR and mass spectroscopy confirmed their existances. Synthesis of these compounds shows that l-phenylcyclopenta-l,2-diene has been synthesized and trapped for the first time. The formation of these products indicated for the first time clearly the generation of l-iodo-2-phenylcyclopenten as a highly strained cyclic ailene.
