Özet
ÖZET“Heykel ve Renk”hakkındaki bu çalışmada rengin heykele etkisi, hangi amaçlarla ve nasıl kullanıldığı incelenmektedir. Heykel sanatında rengin işlevi, tarihsel süreçte renk bilgisinin gelişimiyle doğru orantılı değişmiştir. XX. yy. öncesinde“rengin bilim öncesi”döneminde renk fonksiyonel amaçlarla kullanılırken,“rengin bilim sonrası”döneminde estetik kaygılarla kullanılmıştır. Sanat tarihindeki renkli heykel örnekleri dikkate alındığında XX. yy. başları, heykelde rengin plastik amaçlarla kullanımının miladı olduğu görülmektedir. Çünkü XX. yy da rengin tanımlanması ve renk bilgisinin gelişmesi, heykeltıraşların da ilgisini çekmiş, heykellerinde rengin etkisini araştırmak ve olanaklarından yararlanmak istemişlerdir. İki bölümden meydana gelen tezin“Dinsel Heykelde Renk”adlı birinci bölümünde: Rengin fonksiyonel amaçlarla inançlara, geleneğe ve dinsel nedenlere bağlı kullanımına farklı yaklaşımları öne çıkaran dönemleri, -îlkel Toplumların Sanatı, Mısır ve Avrupa Heykeli- incelenmektedir. Sembolizm ve benzetme amaçlı renk kullanımları örneklerle anlatılmaktadır.“Dindışı Heykelde Renk”adlı ikinci bölümde ise, heykelde rengi plastik kaygılarla ele alan XX. yy. heykeli; Ekspresyonizm, Kübizm, Sürrealizm, Yeni Gerçekçilik, Pop Art, Minimalizm ve Soyut Sanat gibi Çağdaş Sanat Akımları aracılığıyla araştırılmaktadır. Rengin ifadeci, sembolik dekoratif ve yapısalcı kullanımları sergilenmektedir.

ABSTRACT The effects of colour within the medium of sculpture, the purposes and the methods of its use is studied in this thesis regarding the relations of 'sculpture and colour'. The function of colour being experienced in the medium of sculpture had a parallel devolopment with the progression concerning the knowledge of colour through time. Whereas of its functional use before the period of 'colour before science' in the previous history of 20th century, it has then been put in use with aestetic concerns following the period of 'colour after science'. By taking the examples of coloured sculptures within art history into consideration, earlier 20th century is shown to be the period of time when the usage of colour as a plastic element within the medium of sculpture reached at its peak. By the 20th century the defining of colour and the progressions being made of the knowledge of colour cought also the attention of sculptors, and they wanted to put its possibilities in use by experiencing its effects on their practices. In the first chapter of this thesis, which is consisted of two main chapters, 'colour in religious sculpture', the usage of colour by the means of different approaches to its functional purposes through history - primitive art, Egyptian and European sculpture - is studied with its links to belief, tradition and religious causes. Symbolism and the uses of colour as a tool of similarity are explained by examples. The second chapter, 'colour in non - religious sculpture', consists of 20th century sculpture considering colour İn this medium by plastic concerns by giving out examples of Modern Art movements such as Expressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, New Realism, Pop Art, Minimalism and Abstract Art. The expressive, symbolic, decorative and structural uses of colour are displayed. VI
