Özet
ÖZET bilişsel bilim çerçevesinde filmsel anlatı ve görsel algılama Bu tezin amacı görsel algılama sistemi ve filmdeki anlatı arasındaki ilişkilerin ortaya çıkarılmasıdır. Konunun kuramsal çerçevesini bilişsel film teorisi ve görsel algılama teorileri oluşturmuştur. Çalışma boyunca izleyici ve filmsel anlatı arasındaki ilişkide görsel algılamanın önemi vurgulanmıştır. Anlatının anlaşılması ve hikayenin sürekliliğinin takip edilebilmesi görsel algılama sistemi ele alınarak incelenebilir. Görsel algılama sisteminde zihindeki, doğuştari gelen ya da sonradan öğrenilen bilgiler ve görsel deneyimler kullanılır. Doğuştan gelen bilgiler evrenselken, sonradan edinilen görsel deneyimler ve bilgiler her insanda farklıdır. İzleyicinin zihninde meydana gelen kavramsal işlemlerle görsel algılama sistemi arasında sürekli bir etkileşim vardır. Görsel algılama kavramsal işlemleri hem etkiler, hem de bu işlemlerden etkilenir. Bu nedenle görsel algılama sisteminin sonuçlan her izleyiciye göre farklılık göstermektedir. Bu varsayım bir grup izleyici üzerinde yapılan incelemelerle doğrulanmıştır.

ABSTRACT FILM NARRATION AND VISUAL PERCEPTION IN THE CONTEXT OF COGNITIVE SCIENCE The purpose of this thesis is to point out the relations between visual perception and film narration. The theoretical limitation of the subject consists of cognitive film theory and the theories of visual perception. Throughout the thesis, the importance of visual perception is emphasized in the relation of audiences and film narration. The system of visual perception can be studied and explored to understand the narration of a film and to follow the consistency pf the story. In visual perception, the information that comes with birth or the visual experiences and information that are learned later are used. While the information that comes with birth is universal, the learned information and visual experiences are different for every human being. There is a continuous interaction between audiences' mental processes and visual perception system. Visual perception is affected by those mental processes as well as it affects them. Therefore, the results of visual perception differ for every audience. This hypothesis is verified by examining a group of audiences.
