ÖZET Yüksek Lisans Tezi POLATLI ÇEVRESİ MOLLUSK FAUNASININ PALEONTOLOJÎK VE STRATİGRAFİK İNCELEMESİ Melike ERLER BAYRAM Ankara Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Jeoloji Mühendisliği Anablim Dalı Danışman: Prof.Dr. Güler TANER Bu Yüksek Lisans tezi ile Ankara ili, Polatlı ilçesi, Kargah köyü civarında yüzlek veren Eosen yaşlı birimlerin, Molluska faunasına bağlı olarak paleontolojisi ve stratigrafisi incelenmiştir. Yardımcı fauna olarak Mercanlar'lardan feydalanılmıştır. İnceleme alanında Eosen yaşlı Beldede ve Eskipolatlı Formasyonları yer aim Çalışma esnasında Beldede Tepe'nin güneyinden 1 adet ve Kabakyazısı Tepesi'nin kuzey batısından 1 adet olmak üzere toplam 2 adet ölçülü stratigraflk kesit alınmıştır. 1. Kesitte 128 m, 2. Kesitte ise 80.8 m kalınlıkta istif ölçülmüştür. İstifte Pelecypoda sınırından Cyrena sirena trigona Deshayes, Cyrena sirena sirena (Brongniart), Ostrea (Cubitostrea) flabellula (Lamarck), Ostrea (Cubitostrea) plicala pticata (Solander), Ostrea sakaıyensis Stcke"pinsky, Ostrea (Gigantostrea) gigantica (Solander in Brander) ve Gastropoda sınıfına ait Batıllarla dlacanthina Cossmann, Globularia (G.) vaplncana d'Orbigny, Cerithtum fodlcatum Bellardi, Batıllarla subacuta D'Orbigny, Turrltella (Tvrrttella) aff. eltsabethae Toula, Plrenella sp., Ancilla (Anclllvs) proptnqua (Zittel), Cepatia cepacea Lamarck, Athleta (Volutospina) ambiqua (Solander), Ancilla (Baryspira) dubia (Deshayes), Cerithium archiaci Hubert et Renevier, Bellatara palaeochroma (BAYANjolmak üzere toplam 1 8 adet tür saptanmıştır. Faunanın paleocoğrafîk ve stratigrafik yayılum incelendiğinde stratigraflk düzey olarak Lütesiyen katına ve formasyon olarak Beldede formasyonuna dahil edilmiştir. ABSTRACT Master Thesis THE PALEONTOLOGICAL AND STRATIGRAPHICAL INVESTIGATION OF MOLLUSK FAUNA OF POLATLI REGION Melike ERLER BAYRAM Ankara University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Geological Engineering Supervisor: Prof.Dr. GOler TANER With this research thesis, the Eocen aged formations that cover Ankara province, Polatlı district, Kargali village have been investigated according to Mollusca fauna. The corals and ostracods have been used as auxiliary fauna. Eocen aged Beldede and Eskipolatli formations are located at the reearch area. During the investigation, two measured stratigraphic sections have been taken from the south of Beldede Hill and the north-west of Kabakyazısı Hill. In the first section, 128 m thickness has been measured. And also in the second section, 80.8 m thickness has been measured. In the sections, from the Class of Pelecypoda; Cyrena sirena trigona Deshayes, Cyrena sirena sirena (Brongniart), Ostrea (Cubitoslrea) flabellula (Lamarck), Ostrea (Cubttostrea) plicata plicata (Solander), Ostrea sakaryensis Stchepinsky, Ostrea (Gigantostrea) gigantica (Solander in Brander) and from the Class of Gastropoda; Batıllarla diacanthina Cossmann, Globularia (G.) vapincana d'Orbigny, Cerithium fodicatum Bellardi, Batillaria subacuta D'Orbigny, Turritella (Turritella) off. elisabethae Toula, Pirenella sp., Ancilla (Anclllus) propinqua (Zittel), Cepatia cepacea Lamarck, Athleta (Volutospina) ambiqua (Solander), Ancilla (Baryspira) dubia (Deshayes), Cerithium arcfiiaci Hetjert et Renevier, Bellatara palaeochroma (BAYAN) species have been determined. After the paleogeographical and stratigraphical spread of fauna had been investigated, it was decided that the fauna's age is Luteciene and fauna's formation is Beldede. According to fauna's paleoecological properties, it can be said that the investigated environment is a shallow marine environment. 2004, 76 pages
