Özet

Yapılmış olan bu araştırma 4-5 yaş grubu zihinsel engelli çocuklara şekil, renk ve sayı kavramlarının kazandırılmasında bilgisayar destekli eğitimin etkisinin incelenmesi amacıyla planlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Ankara ili Çankaya merkez ilçesinde bulunan özel özel eğitim kurumlan arasından seçilen dört kurum ve bu kurumlara devam eden, zihinsel gelişim olarak 4-5 yaş gelişimsel olgunluğuna sahip toplam 27 zihinsel engelli çocuk oluşturmaktadır. Deneysel nitelikli olan bu araştırmada deney grubuna öntest-eğitim-sontest deseni uygulanırken, kontrol grubuna sadece öntest ve sontest verilmiştir. Deney grubu çocuklarına verilen bilgisayar destekli eğitimler 12 hafta sonunda sontest ile tamamlanmış, kontrol grubu çocukları da sonteste dahil edilmiş ve elde edilen değerler“sontest(l)”şeklinde belirtilmiştir. Ardından deney grubu çocuklarına şekil, renk ve sayı kavramlarına yönelik yoğun bilgisayar destekli eğitim verilmiş, hemen ardından sontest, kontrol grubu çocukları da dahil olmak üzere tekrarlanmış ve elde edilen değerler“sontest(2)”şeklinde belirtilmiştir. Zihinsel engelli çocukların bilişsel gelişim düzeylerini belirlemede Portage Erken Çocukluk Dönemi Eğitim Programlan Kontrol Listesi, bilgisayar destekli eğitim programının etkisinin değerlendirilmesinde ise araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen form kullanılmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel analizinde, zihinsel engelli çocuklann şekil, renk ve sayı kavramlannı kazanmalanna yönelik yapılan değerlendirmelerin incelenmesi aşamasında öntest-sontest(l) değerlendirmeleri arasındaki ilişki“McNemar Testi”ile öntest-sontest(l)-sontest(2) değerlendirmeleri arasındaki ilişki için“Cochran Testi”kullanılmıştır. Deney ve kontrol gruplanndan elde edilen sonuçlann öntest- sontest(l)-sontest(2) değerlendirmeleri arasındaki farkın incelenmesi için ise“Chi- Kare (X2) Önemlilik Testi”uygulanmıştır. This study was planned to investigate the effects of computer aided education on the acquisition of shape, color and number concepts by the mentally handicapped children between ages of 4-5. The sample of this study was consisted of four private special education institutions selected from private special education institutions within the Çankaya county, Ankara province, and 27 mentally handicapped children at a developmental level of 4-5 years and attending those private special education institutions. It was in an experimental design, and the experimental group was received pretest-training- and post test but the control group was received only pretest and post-test. Computer assisted education program applied to the experimental group was completed by a post test given at the end of the period of 12 weeks, and the control group was included in the post test procedure and the results of the post test is indicated with the name of“post-test(l)'\ Then the control group was given intensive computer aided training for shape, color and number concepts, then a post test was replied by including the control group, and the results of the replied post test is indicated with the name of ”post-test(2)'\ Checklist of the Portage Early Intervention Program was used to determine the cognitive developmental levels of the mentally handicapped children, and a form was developed by the researcher to evaluate the effects of the computer assisted education. For the statistical analysis of the data,“McNemar Test”was used to evaluate the relationship between pretest-post test(l) and“Cochran Test”was used to evaluate the relationship between pretest-post test(l)-post test(2) during the evaluation for acquisition of shape, color and number concepts by the mentally handicapped children.“Chi-Square (X2) Significance Test”was used to evaluate the difference between the post test(l)-post test(2) results for the experimental and control groups. As a result of statistical evaluation for the concepts of shape, color and number, it was found that the difference between cognitive processes of the experimental and the control groups were significant .
