SUMMARY Turkish language has undergone- several changes since the first written products occurred. After the adaption of the Islamic Re 3 igion, Arabic and Persian culture, as a whole, has been increasingly effective in all cycles of the lives of Turks »star ting wa th the religious effect. Turkish literature has been flooded by Eastern Islamic isotives and Arabic-Persian words. This has caused the Turkish language eventually to became a complex language with little usage of Turkish words. With the appearance of the classical Ottoman Turkish in the 16th century j, 1 iter ature has been produced.>;ith more artistic contents, than the people could conceive. In the recant ime,“tevar ih- i al-i Osuan's”,“menaka bname's”,“f CitOvvetnarne * =.”,“gazavetname's”have been the types that have attracted people's interest. But, although small in numbers, the satirical works produced, have been the types in which the people *ound themselves in feeling, thought and language. In Turkish î i ter ature, the“Harname's”by Şeyhî, by Holla Lotfî and by SahrSvî Cwbich is the object of this study) aire very interesting products concerning their language and contents. The“Harnarae”of HüsSm-ı SahrjŞv* with its anecdotes and jokes, its aboundance in proverbs, and -sayings its phonological and grammatical particular is one of the works worth attention in Turkish 3 i ter ature'. Up to date only one hard written copy exists and we are in the.belief that r>ore &-nd (see concern will be371 attracted to ibis work. The title of the work was named in its.“mukaddime”as“Tuhfeten 1 i-Hazreti ' 1-* M iyye”in between the pages it was named several times as“Harname”.
