Özet
Metinleri Anlamada Doğru Okumanın Önemi? adlı çalışmada amaç, doğruokuma işlemini ardından okunan parçanın doğru anlaşılacağını göstermek ve ?okuma?işlemiyle ilgilenenlere konuyla ilgili ışık tutmaktır.Okumada ilk amaç, parçayı hızlı okumaktan önce doğru anlamaktır. Parçayıdoğru anlamak için ise vurguya, tonlamaya, duraklara, kelime gruplarına ve noktalamaişaretlerine dikkat ederek okumak gerekmektedir.Çalışmamızda ? stiklâl Marşı?, ?Bayrak? şiiri, ?Atatürk'ün Gençliğe Hitabesi?ve ?Dede Korkut? hikâyeleri gibi metinlerin yukarıda değindiğimiz şartlara göre nasılokunması gerektiği ve bu okumanın ardından nasıl bir anlamın ortaya çıkacağı elealınmıştır.Doğru okumanın anlamaya etkisini ölçmek için de lköğretim sekizinci sınıföğrencileriyle okuma hususunda bir uygulama yapılmıştır. Bunun için Reşat NuriGüntekin'in ?Gamsızın Ölümü? adlı hikâyesi belirli bölümlere ayrılmış ve her bölümbir öğrenciye okutularak okunan bölümle ilgili her öğrenciye üçer soru sorulmuştur.Bu uygulamanın sonuçları aşağıdaki gibidir:Toplam öğrenci sayısı : 55Söz konusu şartlara uyarak okuyup üç soruya da doğru cevap veren öğrencisayısı : 28Bu şartlara uymadan okuyup bir soruya doğru cevap veren öğrenci sayısı : 13Bu şartlara uymadan okuyup üç soruya da yanlış cevap eren öğrenci sayısı : 14Yapılan bu uygulama ile de anlaşılacağı gibi, metni yukarıda saydığımız şartlarauyarak okuyanlar doğru anlayabilmektedirler.

The purpose of the study, which is titled as ?The Importance of ReadingCorrectly in Understanding Texts? is to show the correct understanding of a textafter the process of reading of the text correctly and to enlighten the people who areinterested in ?reading? itself.The first purpose of reading is to understand a text correctly before readingthe text fast. In order to understand the text correctly, it is needed to read the text bypaying attention to the stress, intonation, pauses, word - groups, and the punctuationmarks.In the light of those conditions stated above, texts such as ?The NationalAnthem,? ?The Flag Poem,? ?Ataturk's Address to the Turkish Youth?, and ?TheTales of Dede Korkut? and how a meaning would occur after this reading processwere some of the points that were held in the study.In order to measure the effect of the reading of a text correctly forunderstanding, an application study was made for the subject of reading onSecondary School, 8th grade students. In this respect, the story ?Gamsızın Ölümü?by Reşat Nuri Güntekin was divided into parts so that each part had been read by astudent and then each student was asked three questions in connection with the partof the story that he / she had read before.The result of this application study is as follows below:- The numbers of the total students are 55.- The numbers of the students who read the text by paying attention to theconditions stated above and then gave correct answers to all of the questions are 28.- The numbers of the students who read the text without paying attention tothe conditions stated above and then gave only one correct answer to the questionsare 13.- The numbers of the students who read the text without paying attention theconditions stated above and then gave no correct answer to the questions are 14.As can be understood according to gathered data in this application study, thestudents who read the text by paying attention to the conditions stated above canunderstand texts correctly.
