Özet
Bu araştırmada ortaöğretim 9. sınıf tarih ders kitapları incelenmiş, uygulanan anketçalışmaları ile birlikte 9. sınıf öğrencilerinin faydalandıkları, tarih öğretmenlerinin de okuttukları tarihders kitapları hakkındaki görüşleri tespit edilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır.Ders kitapları; eğitim ve öğretimin sistemli bir şekilde sunulabilmesi için öğretmenlerimize veöğrencilerimize rehber niteliğindeki, önemli bir materyaldir. Ve hala okullarımızda başvurulan tek ve enönemli kaynaktır. Bu durum, ders kitaplarının daha nitelikli ve daha kaliteli hazırlanmasını zorunlu halegetirmektedir.Tarih dersinin bireyi topluma hazırlayacak ve kazandıracak konuları ele alması, tarih derskitaplarının önemini daha da artırmaktadır. Genel olarak ders kitaplarına baktığımızda bazılarının TalimTerbiye Kurulu'ndan geçmesine rağmen önemli eksikliklerinin bulunduğunu görmekteyiz.Araştırmamızın içeriğini oluşturan tarih ders kitapları ise öğretmen ve öğrenci açısından bekleneniverememektedir ve çağdaş tarih ders kitapları ölçütlerini tam olarak karşılayacak nitelikte değildir.Çalışmamın bir bölümünde ders kitaplarının eğitim ve öğretimimiz açısından yeri ve önemibelirtilirken, çalışmanın esasını, 9. sınıf tarih ders kitapları üzerinde yapılan incelemeler ileöğretmenlere uygulanan tam yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ve öğrenci anketleri doğrultusunda,okullarımızda genel itibariyle tek materyal olarak kullanılan tarih ders kitaplarındaki tespit edilen bazıeksiklikler oluşturmaktadır. Öğretmen ve öğrenci anket çalışmalarında ortaya çıkan cevaplarınbirbirleriyle paralellik göstermeleri dikkat çekicidir.Yapılan anket çalışması sonucunda; öğretmenlerin, ders kitaplarının şuan ki program çerçevesindeöğrenciye sistemli bilgi sunmada önemini kabul ettiklerini yalnız, eksiklerinin olduğunu, bunu dakitabın hem görsel hem de içerik açısından öğrencinin ilgisini çekecek yeterlilikte hazırlanmamasıgerçeğine bağlamaktadırlar. Ders kitabı dışında farklı materyallere ihtiyaç duyulduğu, artık tarih derskitabının, tarih programının uygulanmasında tek başına öğretmen ve öğrenciye yetmediği sonuçlardananlaşılmaktadır. Kaynakların yeterliliği hususunda çoğunluğun olumlu düşünmesinin yanında, üslûpaçısından seviyeye uygun anlatımda eksikliklerin olduğu da ifade edilmiştir. Ayrıca anlatımda çokluyaklaşımdan ziyade tek doğrunun hâkim olduğu, öğrencilerin tarihsel eleştiri ve düşünsel yeteneklerininzayıf bırakıldığı anlaşılmaktadır.Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda piyasaya sürülen 9. sınıf tarih ders kitaplarınınbelli yönlerde eksiklerinin olduğu öğretmenlerin ve öğrencilerin bu durumun farkında olduklarısöylenebilir. Ders kitaplarının önemli bir eğitim ve öğretim aracı olarak kabul edildiği ülkemizde dahanitelikli, daha kaliteli kitaplar yazılması hem öğrencinin derse ilgisini arttıracak hem de eğitimdekibaşarıyı olumlu yönde etkileyecektir. Bu bilgiler doğrultusunda tarih öğretmenleri, ders kitabı yazarları,yayınevleri ile M.E.B ve alanda araştırma yapacaklara önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

ABSTRACTIn this research, 9th grade historytextbooks (high school) were studied; the opinions givenby both history teachers and the students were the results of the applied polls were revealed andinterpreted.The textbook is such an important material that guides both teachers and students topresent the education and instruction in a systematic way. It is still the unique and the most importantsource material applied in our schools. Due to this situation, preparing more quality and qualifiedtextbooks becomes a compulsory issue.Involving the subjects that prepare an individual for the society makes the historytextbooks more important. When we think about the textbooks in general even though the most ofthem approved by the Training Committee (T.T.K.) we see that they are lacking significant points. Thehistory textbooks which form the content of our research, can not meet the expectations of both theteachers and the students and they have not got a quality to meet the criteria of the contemporaryhistory textbooks exactly.In a part of my study the importance of the textbooks on education and instruction isstated. The main part of my study consists of the researches on the 9th grade history textbooks andsome lacking points of the existing textbooks used in our schools as the only material with respect tothe poll carried out on both teachers and students. The similarity of the answers both given by thestudents and the teachers in the poll study attracts attention. The result of the poll study indicates thatthe teachers assume the importance of the textbooks in presenting the systematic knowledge to thestudents with in the boundaries of present program and this is connected to the truth of beinginsufficient in content and visual aspects to arouse the interests of the students. It is also stated thatsome other materials are needed in addition to the textbooks. The results indicate that the textbooks arenot sufficient for both the teachers and the students in practicing the history program. Besides thinkingpositively on the sufficiency of the sources the majority of the participants stated the insufficiency ofexposition according to the level of the students. In addition, the domination of the only one truth inexposition has been preferred to the multiple approaches. This attitude weakens the historical criticismand intellectual abilities of the students.It can be said that the 9th grade history textbooks that are put on the market are lacking insome ways and both the teachers and the students are aware of this situation. As for being an importantmaterial of the education and instruction in our country, the quality textbooks must be written so as toincrease the students? level of interest and success. It has been proposed to the history teachers,textbook authors, publishing houses, Ministry of Education and the researchers with respect to theinterpretations.
