The aim of the study is togather data for the pilot study on the Logical Memory I-II and Auditory Recognition Delayedsubtests of WMS-III.The first step of this pilot study was to translate the original scale into Turkish. The Turkishtranslation of the WMS-III was individually administered to 158 adults (80 females, 78 males),from threee education status. The age range range of the sample is 16-77 years.The data on the Logical Memory I-II and Auditory Recognition Delayed subtests of WMS-IIIwere analyzed by 3 (age) x3 (ES) x 2 (sex) analysis of variance was used. The rank ordercorrelation technique was used to find out the item difficulty range in the Turkish sample of Thesubtests. The internal consistency of the performance scales was calculated by Cronbach Alphacoefficients and intercorelations were computed.The result of the analysis of variance indicate that the main effect of education status wasstatistically significant on the three subtests of the WMS-III, in favour of high education status;there was no main effect of sex and age on any subtest.On the Cronbach Alpha coefficients and intercorrelations calculated are very high and significant,indicating that the internal consistency of the performance test of the Turkish WMS-III is high.The suggestions for the standardization study were discussed in the light of the findings of thispilot study.
