Özet
Bu çalışma gençlik seviyesinde gerçekleştirilen bir Türk-Yunan barış eğitimi girişimininsonuçlarını tartışmaktadır. Değerlendirmeye tabi tutulan projenin ismi Uyuşmazlık ÇözümünüÖğrenmek ve Barış Yaratmak'tır. Projenin temel amacı Türk ve Yunan gençleri arasında birilişki kurmak ve kurulan ilişkilerin iyileştirilmesidir. Bu proje planlanan değişikliklereulaşmak için iki ana araç kullanmıştır: barış eğitimi ve kontak. Bu araştırma projeyi iki yönlübir değerlendirme metoduyla incelemiştir. lk kısımda röportajlar ve katılımcı gözlemkullanılarak projenin değişim teorileri incelenmiştir. Bu değerlendirmenin sonucu olarak birsüreç haritası elde edilmiştir. kinci kısımda ise uygulama ve kontrol grubu ile birlikte birdeney yapılmıştır. Bu değerlendirmenin sebebi ise çalıştayın kişisel seviyedeki etkileriniölçmek olmuştur. Bu deneyde üç temel duruma bakılmıştır: düşünsel empati, davranışsalempati ve güven. Bulgulara göre iki grup arasında düşünsel empati ve güven seviyelerindeciddi bir fark vardır. Son olarak ise, deney sonuçları ile süreç haritası karşılaştırılarak biranaliz yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın disipline katkısı ise değişik metodolojileri bir arayagetirerek harmanlamasıdır.

This paper discusses the results of the evaluation of a Greek-Turkish peaceeducation initiative at the grass-roots level titled Learning Conflict Resolution and ProducingPeace: Turkish-Greek Civic Dialogue (TGCD). The purpose of the initiative was to build andimprove relations among Turkish and Greek youth. TGCD incorporated contact and peaceeducation as the primary tools for change. This research evaluated the program by combininga two-way evaluation methodology. The first part investigated the program?s theory of changethrough structured interviews with the organizers and participant observation. A process maphas been created as a result of this. In the second part, we conduct an experiment involvingthe treatment group and a control group to assess the outcomes from the workshop at theinter-personal level. We measure the sustainability of three major traits in the treatmentgroup: attitudinal empathy, behavioral empathy, and trust. The findings of the experimentsuggest that there are significant differences between the treatment group and the controlgroup with regard to the development of attitudinal empathy and trust. Finally, we comparethe results from the mapping of the program?s theory of change and the findings from theexperimental design. This study contributes to the literature at large in a sense that it assessesand tests a program?s theory of change with multiple methodologies using qualitativeinterviews, mapping, and a field experiment.
