SUMMARY The result of this thesis can be summarized briefly as follows. At the begining of the Kök Turks, istemi ascended the throne after Bunun Khan and after a short time left the throne for his nephew and maintained his post as yabgu over“On Oklar”. Ve can say that Mahan ( Bagan ) Tig in who was mentioned in Sogdian Bugut inscrip tion might have ascended the Kök Türk throne during 559/60. Another result we derive from inscriptions is the relation between“Ak Huns”and“Avars”. For the first time we saw that“Apars”and Asiatic Huns were unified in Kök Türk inscriptions. We also proved that the name of Uteris and Kapgan Khans' brother who was mentioned as To-si-fu in Chinese sources was registered as II Çor Tigin in the Kök Türk inscriptions. Morever, we tried to arrange the disputed history registration of Kök Türk and Uigur (üygur) history with the historical registrations in the Kök Türk inscriptions. As it is known, Kapgan had appointed his son, Fu-chü, as Ini II Khan to be his successor. But historians, in any case, talk about Bilges' rulership just after the death of Kapgan Khan. Besides, for the first time we added the sovereingty of Ini II Khan and his struggles to Kök Türk history. Morever, we mentioned for the first time the council (kurultay) which was accomplished at“the Cemetery of Ancestors”by Uigurs when taking control over Turkish State. In addition, we are of the opinion that the theme of“the Cemetery of Ancestors”has had relation with Ergenekun Epic. The investigations that we made over the Turkish clans in inscriptions not only enlightened many still unknown things but also gives a lot of encyclopedical 300informations to the scientific world. Among these there are informations about Altı Bag Bodun, Süngüz, Başkan and Kümü Is clans. On the other hand, the relations of the foreing nations (that exist in the inscriptions) with the Turkish history is examined and lately a summary of the Turkish State organization is made according to the Kök Türk documents. 301
