Özet
Bu tez çalışmasında, sanat eğitiminin genel eğitim içerisindeki yeri ve önemi üzerinde durulmuştur. Görsel sanatların önemini vurgulamak için, öncelikle sanattan, sanatın amacı ve işlevinden bahsetmek gerekir. Sanat kavramı çok geniştir. Çalışmada sanatla ilgili tüm anlatımlar resim sanatı ile sınırlı tutulmuştur. Sanatın toplumlardaki önemini ve toplumsal gelişimin bir parçası olduğunu vurgulamak için, Avrupa resim sanatının gelişimi, çağlara ve çağların düşünce biçimine göre açıklanmıştır. Sanat eğitiminin amacı, yeniliği, yaratıcılığı beslemek, kişisel yetilerin gelişimi için gerekli ortamları oluşturmaktır. Düşünmeyi ve kavramayı öğretir. Yaşamın içinde var olabilmek, kişisel yetileri geliştirmekle mümkündür. İlköğretim 7?11 yaş grubu çocuklarının bedensel, bilişsel, duygusal ve sanatsal gelişim basamakları incelenerek, bu gelişimlerinin sağlıklı olabilmesi için bilgiyi aktarmanın yanında sanat eğitiminin gerekliliği üzerinde durulmuştur. Her çocuk, yaratıcı güçlerle donanmış olarak dünyaya gelir. Görsel Sanatlar Dersi, çocukta var olan yaratıcı güçleri ortaya çıkaracak özellikleri içinde taşır. Genel eğitim içinde sanat eğitimini kullanmanın amacı sanatçı yetiştirmek değil, çocuğa sanat kültürü aşılamak ve sanat yoluyla yaratıcı bireyler yetiştirmektir. Görsel Sanatlar Dersi, çocuğun kendini özgün ve yaratıcı olarak ifade etmesi için gerekli bir derstir. Yaratıcılık kavramı, yalnızca sanatsal gelişim için değil, tüm meslekler için gerekli bir olgudur. Bu nedenle çocuğun yaratıcılık ve hayal gücü yetilerinin geliştirilmesi ve eğitilmesi gereklidir. Bu bağlamda bireysel yaratıcılık ve eğitim ilişkisinden bahsedilmiştir. Türkiye'de sanat eğitimine verilen önemi anlamak için, genel eğitim içinde ?Sanat Eğitimi?nin Türkiye'de Cumhuriyet dönemiyle birlikte tarihsel süreci incelenmiş ve bugüne kadar yapılan sanat eğitimi programları hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. İlköğretim okullarında 1992 yılından 2006 yılına kadar Resim-iş dersi olan ve 2006 yılından beri Görsel Sanatlar Dersi olarak işlenen sanat eğitimi dersinin öğretim programı incelenerek, diğer derslerle olan ilişkisi ve bununla birlikte genel eğitim içindeki yeri araştırılmıştır. Tezin sonuç ve öneriler kısmı olan VI. bölümünde, yapılan tüm araştırmalar birlikte değerlendirilmiştir. Resim sanatı bağlamlı alıntılar, sanatı açıklayan bilgiler, 7?11 yaş grubu çocuğunun özellikleri, sanat ve eğitimi birlikte ele alan pedagojik ve yaratıcılık konulu maddeler, ülkemizde ilköğretim sanat eğitimini irdeleyen konu ışığında Görsel Sanatlar Dersi nasıl olmalıdır? sorusu yanıtlanmıştır.

In this thesis the role and importance of art education under general education system has been examined. Firstly art, aim and function of art should be considered in order to emphasize the importance of visual arts. The conept of art is immense. The scope of this work has been kept limited to art of painting. Development of art of painting in Europe has been axplained according to ages and ideas of those ages in order to stress significance of art in societies and that art is a part of social development. The aim of art education is to support the renovation and creativeness and form required environment to develop individual abilities. Art teaches thinking and understanding. Living life effectively is possible with developing personel abilities. Examining physical, knowledgeable, emotional and artistic development steps of elementary school children between 7 & 11, the necessity of art education has been considered for proper development of those cildren, besides transferring the knowledge. Every child comes to life with creative abilities. The Lesson of Visual Arts has its own characteristic to explore the ability of children. The aim of art education under general education system is not to make children artists but it is to teach the culture of art and bring up creative people through art. The Lesson of Visual Arts is necessary for children to express themselves originally and creatively. The concept of creativeness is not only for artistic development but also a necessary fact for all the professions. Therefore creative and imaginary abilities of children should be developed and educated. In this respect the relationship between personel creativeness and education has been mentioned. The history of art education under general education system has been examined since the beginning of Turkish Republic and information about the programmes of art education has been given in order to understand the value given to art education in Turkey. Examining the programmes of art education lessons, which have been given as Visual Arts Lessons since 2006 and was given as Art Painting Lessons in elementary schools from 1992 to 2006, the relationship with the other lessons and also the role of it in general education has been searched. In the sixth section, including the result and suggestions, all of the work has been evaluated together. How should visual art lesson be? This question has been responded by citations related to art painting, knowledge which explains the art in general, characteristic of the children between 7&11, the subject of pedagogical and creativeness articles which take up art and its training together and the subject through the light of art which inquires the elementary art education in our country.
