Özet
Araştırmada Van yöresine ait geleneksel baş süslemelerinin tarihsel süreç içerisinde incelenerek Urartu döneminden günümüze kadar süren değişimi incelenmiştir. Bu süreçte geleneksel kıyafetler ve baş süslemelerinde çok büyük bir değişiklik olmadığı gözlenmiştir.Araştırmanın evrenini Van yöresinde kullanılan geleneksel baş süslemeleri, müzedeki eserler, literatürdeki bilgiler oluşturmaktadır. Geleneksel baş süslemelerini halen kullanan kadınlara ulaşılamamıştır. Kullanılmış ve sandıklarda saklanmış olan başlıklar giyilerek fotoğraflanmıştır. Günümüz şartlarına ayak uydurmaya çalışan Van yöresi kadınları kullandıkları yeni ve süslü başörtüleri ile kendilerini süslemektedirler. Bu araştırma kapsamında; başlıklar, tepelikler, kofi, baş süslemelerinde kullanılan takıları için gözlem formu kullanılmıştır. Bu gözlem formlarındaki örnekler kompozisyon özellikleri açısından incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda;1. Geleneksel baş süslemelerini kullanan kadınlar günden güne azalmaktadır.2. Geleneksel başlıkların yapımında kullanılan malzemeler zaman içerisinde değişikliğe uğramaktadır.3. Başlıklara Van yöresi el sanatları içerisinde gereken önem verilmediğinden değeri bilinmemekte ve az miktarda da olsa sandıklarda rastlanmaktadır.4. Yeni nesil geleneksel kıyafetlerimiz hakkında yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadığından istenilen bilgilere ulaşılamamıştır.Bu araştırmanın sonunda ortaya çıkan sorunlara araştırmacı bir takım öneriler de bulunmaktadır.

In this research, the change of traditional head decoratives belonging to Van region were examined in the historical process from the period of Urartus till today. It has been observed that there were no big change in traditional clothes and head decoratives in the history.The universe of research consists of traditional head decoratives which are being used in the region of Van, porducts in the museum and knowledge in books as a source. The woman who had been wearing traditional head decoratives weren?t seen. The woman in Van region, who are trying to follow the fashion, have renewed themselves by using new and charming scarfs. In this research, the observation of wearings used in helmet, traditional helmet, kofi was used. The samples in this observation form were observed in the sense of composition and were explained .In the end of research:The number of women who are using traditional head decoratives gets fewer day by day.Materials used in the made of traditional helmets have become different as the time passes and have been unprecious.The helmets aren?t used in daily life since nobody takes into consiteration the helmets in Van region hand arts.
