buildings outside the Harem, such as the Inner Treasury, the Eunuchs places and Mosque, management apartments of Ottoman Empire, some parts oh kitchens, gardens and the gates but unfortunately none of interior decoration has been preset ved. The another part of palace, of Harem contains a wealth of examples of 1 6 Tb. century decoration with work in the ceiling, the painted decoration on (he struts of arches the magnificent 16 Tb. century İznik tiles on the walls, the rue and tortoise shell inlay on the doors and windows and the stained glass and marble relief work. This type of 16 Th. century decoration can also be seen in other parts of the places in the Harem. The domes and troughs in the ceiling are decorated with ornate designs employing various Turkish classical motifs, the walls are faces with 17 Th. century tile panels with cypresses and flowers in pots, while the marble frames of Ihe doors and windows are adorned with exquisite carvings. Ottoman decoration, which had remained almost wholly untouched by the European art of the Renaissance and the 17 Th. century, now began to be swept along by western artistic currents. The first examples of the new style ate to be found in the decorations of the library of the Aimed III. The decoration here forms a bridge between the Turkish style and future European innovations. The realistic flower and other motifs employed differ both from the old Turkish stylized motifs and the Baroque, Rococo and Empire styles, forming a breakaway from the one and the beginning of an approach to the other. After Ibis both the traditional motifs and the old İznik and Kütahya tiles completely disappear their place being taken by Dutch Delf and Italian ware. The Turkish tile ails known in the so much famous art in the Ottoman - Turkish period. We can see to concerning Turkish tile art borrow a page from in different placed of the Topkapt Palace. As I tried to clarify in former chapters, Topkapi Palace which is a collection of the history and art, is still very precious today. Briefly, as 1 treated in my thesis, Topkapi Palace has took right part in Turkish tile art also... I present my respects. M.
