Özet

11 Eylül insanların hafızasında ve dünya siyasetinde derin izler bıraktı. Bu olayla, Amerikalısiyasetçilerinin 90'lar boyunca hazırlandıgı büyük degisimin ihtiyacı olan yeni Pearl Harbourgerçeklesmis oldu.Yeni Amerikan Yüzyılı olarak adlandırılan projeye göre, Amerika Birlesik Devletleri dünyasiyasetini belirlemede artık eskisi kadar güçlü degil. Soguk savasın bitisiyle ortaya çıkanolumlu hava çabucak dagıldı. Amerika için dünya liderligi hayali eskisinden daha uzak. Buprojenin en önemli noktası ise Avrasya'nın kilit noktasını hedef alan Büyük Ortadogu projesi.Dünya ekonomisi artık eskisi gibi degil, Ikinci Dünya Savası sonunda ABD'nin ulastıgı noktaçok gerilerde kaldı. ABD'nin elinde kalan tek sey ise askeri teknolojik üstünlügü.Ortadogu'nun seçilmesinin en önemli sebeplerinden biri dünya enerji politikalarındakibelirleyici rolü.Bu çalısmada, Bush yönetiminin ilk bakısta görünmeyen amaçları incelenmis ve projenintahmini bitis süresi olan 2010'lara kadar olabilecek siyasi olaylar anlasılmaya çalısılmıstır. Bunoktada Türkiyenin tercihi çok önemli, sadece projeye olan cografi dahli degil, dini vebarındırdıgı milletler de projenin geleceginde belirleyici.

September 11 left a deep impression on human memory and world policy. With this event, thenew Pearl Harbour which was needed for the big change the American politicians werepreparing during the 90?s became true.According to the project called as the New American Century, the US is not strong enough todetermine the world policy any longer. The positive atmosphere which emerged at the end ofthe Cold War disappeared quickly; the dream to be the leader of the world for the US isfarther than before. The most important point of this project is the Greater Middle East Projectthat aims at Eurasia?s key point.The economy of the world is not the same any longer, the point that the US had reached at theend of the World War II is far away today. The only thing that remains in the hands of the USis its military technologic supremacy.One of the most important reasons for the choice of the Middle East is its determinative rolein the world energy policies.In this study, aims of Bush administration ,cannot be seen at first sight, are investigated andpolitical events can happen till 2010?s which is approximate finishing date of the project aretried to be understood. At this point, Turkey?s preference is very important not just for hergeographical inclusion, but also for her religion and the nations she accommodates isdeterminative for the future of the project.
