ABSTRACT THE INVESTIGATION OF ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY AND OPTICAL TRANSPARENCY IN THIN TIN OXIDE (SııO-j) FILMS Afi Rıza ÖZDEMÎR Ankara University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Physics Engineering Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Necmi SERİN 1992, Page: 5 L Jury: Prof. Dr. Necrai Serin Ptof. Dr. Tahsin Nuri Durîu Prof Br. Necati Yalçın In this study it was aimed to obtain tin oxide (SnCM films which have a large electrical conductivity and optical transparency At first, it was established a system in oider to prepare tin oxide film by spraying method. Later, tin oxide film coated on the glass siifo&rate by means of“spraying”,“evaporation and oxidi zation of thin tin film”methods. In oider to obtain doped tin oxide film (Sn02:Sb) the antimony element in the various amount was used. The preparation process of tin oxide was reali zed under the vacum of MO'7 Toir.VI The electrical conductivity characteristic of the samples was measured in the various range of voltage.and temperature. The activation energy of tin oxide films which corresponded to different preparation process was determined by means of straight line obtained from conductivity - temperature (l/T) plotting op tical transparency, reflextion and absorption of the films were measured in the range of 300-900 run vvavelenght in order to obtain optical absorption and trans parency. Finally, it was developed tin oxide films which have the electrical con ductivity in the range of 102-103 (ohm. cm)"1 and optical transparency in the range of 70-80 percent.
