Özet

IV ABSTRACT Masters Thesis THE SPAWNING TIME AND SPAWNING GROUNOS OF CARP (Cyprinus carpio L., 1758) AND TENCH (Tinea tinea L., 1758) IN MOGAN LAKE N. Gülay ÇAVDAROĞLU Ankara University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Biology Supervisor : Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa KARABATAK 1992, Sayfa Jury : Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa KARABATAK Ass t. Prof.Dr. Fikri AYDIN Ass t. Prof.Dr. Sedat YERLİ In this study carried out in the aid of determining spawning grounds and time of reproduction of two fish species, tench (Tinea tinea, L.1758) and Carp (Cyprinus carpio L. 1758) in Mogan Lake, total 124 specimens from tench and 65 ones from carp captured by specific nets (30x30 mm and 55x55 mm, mesh sizes) from lake were examined. It was determined that values of the calculated monthly average gonodosomatic index (GSI %) of carp showed increasing from April to May, the decline from May to August, again increasing fromAugust and remained its eggs on the plants underwater shore and inner of the lake. It was found out that tench, being 1,5 to 2 months latter than Carp, spawned July to August, that values of GSI% increased from April to June, diminished between July and September, raised from October Generally it was revealed that it left its eggs on the plants underwater locality apart from shore of the lake.
