Özet

Bu tezin ana amacı Kant'ın Üçüncü Eleştirisi'nin iki ana kısmından birini teşkil eden Teleolojik Yargının Eleştirisi'nin Kant'ın genel projesi içerisindeki yerini ve anlamını irdeleyebilmektir. Kant'ın, doğa ile ilgili genel görüşünü Birinci Eleştiri'de sonlandırdığı ve oldukça mekanik bir doğa tasarımı sunduğu söylenebilir ki, Üçüncü Eleştiri'ye neden ihtiyaç duyulduğu tam da bu nedenle anlaşılmaya değerdir.Bu tezde doğa kavrayışının kuruluşunda telos kavramının neden dahil edildiği öncelikle Kant öncesi filozofların düşünceleri üzerinden ele alınmıştır. Bu örneklerde dikkate değer olan nokta, telos kavramının konumlandırılma biçiminin sadece doğa değil, onunla iç içe geçen bir toplum anlayışını da belirliyor oluşudur.Felsefe tarihine ilişkin bu çalışmaların ardından Kant'ın Birinci Eleştirisi'ndeki, sözü edilen mekanik doğa anlayışını sonuç olarak doğuran sınır çizme faaliyeti netleştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Daha sonra Ahlak Metafiziğinin Temellendirilmesi'nde formüle edilmiş olan, bu sınırların dahilinde ve haricinde kalan yönleriyle ahlak ve toplum anlayışları ortaya konulmuştur.Son olarak da tezin ana amacına yönelik olarak Kant'ın telos kavramını tartışmaya kattığı Teleolojik Yargının Eleştirisi, doğa ve toplum anlayışı bakımından ele alınmıştır ve onun buradaki tartışmasının mekanik doğa anlayışından öteye gittiğini ortaya koyduğu öne sürülmüştür.

The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the place and the meaning of The Critique of Teleological Judgment constituting one of the main parts of Kant?s Third Critique in his general project. It can be said that he consummates his overall view on nature in the First Critique, and this representation of nature is considerably mechanical. It is, just due to this, why the Third Critique is written becomes worth to be elucidated.In the thesis the reason why the concept of telos is addressed in the construction of the conception of nature is discussed through firstly the thoughts of philosophers preceding Kant. What is notable in the examples here is that the way in which concept of telos is posited not only determines the conception of nature but also, at the same time, the one of society intertwined with it.After the completion of the studies pertaining to the history of philosophy, it is attempted to clarify the operation of delimiting in the First Critique consequently leading to mechanical conception of nature mentioned. Then the conceptions of morals and society formulated in The Foundations of Metaphysics of Morals are introduced in terms of their features in and out of those limits.Finally, in accordance with the main aim of the thesis The Critique of Teleological Judgment in which Kant included the concept of telos in the discussion is examined in terms of the conceptions of nature and society, and asserted that Kant here goes beyond the mechanical understanding of nature.
