Özet
Araştırmanın amacı, üstün yetenekli ilköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencilerinin matematik eğitimine yönelik ihtiyaçlarını belirlemektir. Bu amaçla, üstün yetenekli ilköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencilerinin matematik eğitimine yönelik ihtiyaçları hakkında öğrenci, öğretmen ve uzman görüşleri incelenmiştir.Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemleri esas alınarak yapılmıştır. Öğrencilerin, uzmanların ve öğretmenlerin matematik eğitimine yönelik ihtiyaçlarını belirlemek amacıyla, sırasıyla Öğrenci Görüşme Soruları, Öğretmenlerin Görüşme Formu ve Uzman Görüşme Soruları hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmada 5 öğrenci, 16 öğretmen ve 1 uzman görüşü alınmıştır. Öğretmen görüşleri belirtilen formla internet aracılığıyla, öğrenci ve uzman görüşleri ise yüz yüze görüşme yolu ile elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler; verilerin kodlanması, temalar bulunması, kodların ve temaların düzenlenmesi ve bulguların tanımlanması ve yorumlanması olmak üzere dört aşamada analiz edilmiştir.Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; üstün yetenekli öğrencilerin matematik eğitiminde derinleştirme ve zenginleştirme uygulamalarına birlikte yer verilmesi gerektiği ortaya çıkmıştır. Üstün yetenekli öğrencilerin matematik eğitimde yaratıcılıklarını, soyut düşünme becerilerini, akıl yürütme becerilerini ve problem çözme ve kurma becerilerini geliştirecek fırsatlar sunulması gerektiği, bunun için öğrencilerin özelliklerine uygun, özgün materyaller ve etkinlikler üretilmesi gerektiği anlaşılmaktadır. Bu öğrencilerin geleceğin matematikçisi olacakları düşünülerek matematiksel bir bakış açısı kazandıracak etkinliklere yer verilmesi gerektiği ve program içeriğinde matematiğin kullanım alanları, matematik tarihi, ünlü matematikçilerin hayatları ve buluşlarına yer verilmesi gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Üstün yetenekli öğrencilerin matematik programının M.E.B. matematik programını temel alması gerektiği ancak üstün yetenekli öğrencilerin eğitimine uygun olacak şekilde farklılaştırılmalara gidilmesi gerektiği görülmüştür.

The purpose of the study is to determine the needs of the gifted students attending elementary education schools regarding to mathematics education. For this purpose, opinions of the students, teachers and experts related to the needs of the gifted elementary education students in terms of mathematics education were examined.The study is based on qualititative research methods. In order to determine the mathematics education needs of the students, teachers and expert, Interview Questions for Students, Interview Form for Teachers and Interview Questions for Experts were prepared respectively. In the study, opinions of 5 students, 16 teachers and 1 expert were taken. Opinions of the teachers were taken from the mentioned form over the Internet, opinions of the students and experts were taken through face-to-face interviews. The gathered data were analyzed in four phases which are, coding, finding the themes, arranging the codes and the themes and defining the findings.The study results revealed that, in the mathematics education for the gifted students, deepening and enriching applications should take place together. It is understood that, the opportunities which will develop the creativity, conceptual thinking, reasoning and problem building and solving skills in mathematics education should be provided for the gifted students and to this end, specific materials and activities in line with the features of the students should be produced. Considering that such children are to be the mathematicians of the future, it was concluded that, the programme content should involve the activities supporting mathematical thinking and the fields that mathematics are used, the history of mathematics, the biographies and the inventions of the famous mathematicians. It was determined that, the mathematics programme for the gifted students should be based on the mathematics programme of the Ministry of Education, however it should be adjusted in accordance with the needs of the gifted students.
