Özet

Günümüzde bilimsel bilginin doğasıyla ilgili fikirler, bilim tarihçilerinin ve epistemologların çalışmalarıyla büyük oranda değişmiştir. Ülkemizde bilimin doğası üzerine yeterli sayıda çalışma bulunmamaktadır. 182 öğretmen adayı öğrenci ile yapılan bu çalışmayla, bilimin doğasına yönelik yapılan çalışmalara katkıda bulunulması amaçlanmaktadır.Bu çalışmanın amacı öğretmen adaylarında bilimin doğasına yönelik düşünceleri tespit etmektir. Örneklem grubunu Türkiye'nin Batı Karadeniz Birliği'ndeki (BKÜB) devlet üniversitelerinde öğrenim gören fen bilgisi öğretmenliği bölümü öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır.Öğretmen adayı öğrencilerin ?bilimin doğası? hakkındaki görüşlerini değerlendirmek için 25 sorudan oluşan VOSTS(TR), 10 sorudan oluşan VNOS-C anketleri öntest ve sontest olarak uygulanmıştır. Veriler SPSS for Windows ve QSR Nvivo istatistiksel analiz programlarıyla analiz edilmiştir.Bulgulara göre dönem içinde alınan eğitimin; hem kız hem de erkek öğrencilerin ?Bilimsel Teori ve Kanunların Yapısı, bilimin deneyselliği, bilimde teorik kabuller, gözlem ve çıkarımların doğası ile bilimin sosyal-kültürel öğelerle ilişkisi? konularındaki bilgilerinin anlamlı derecede yükselmesini sağladığı tespit edilmiştir.

Today, ideas about the nature of scientific knowledge have changed significantly with the study of science historians and epistemologists. In our country, there is not enough work on the subject of the nature of science. With this study which is done with pre-service teachers, it is intended to contribute to the studies on the nature of science.The aim of this study is to determine the thoughts of pre-service teachers about the nature of science. To be determined the views of nature of science, a dimension of scientific literacy, in this study, science teaching department learners in Turkey's Western Black Sea Union (BKÜB) state universities are chosen as the sample group.In order to assess preservice teachers? opinions about nature of science, VOSTS(TR), consisting of 10 questions, and VNOS-C, consisting of 25 questions was applied as pretest and posttest surveys. SPSS for Windows and statistical data analysis program, QSR Nvivo had been used to analyze the data.According to the findings during the received training period, both girls and boys knowledge on the subjects of the structure of scientific theory and law, empirical nature of science, theoritical entities of nature of science, theoretical assumptions, observations and conclusions of the nature of science and the relation with related social-cultural items is significantly increased.
