Özet (Çeviri)

This study aims at finding out the current structure of Turkish automobile assembler-supplier interrelationship and to findout the relevance of the emerging organization with the world experience. For this purpose, firstly, the labour processes which generate different production organizations are analysed. Capitalist production organization that commenced with manufacture, connected to the technological developments, has undergone a continuous transformation in the labour process. Each labour process has defined the phases of industrial development throughout the history, moreover, by imposing new life styles, they realized the transformation of the forces of social relations both at the point of production and in the wider sphere. HiAt the second half of the 1960s, the capitalist labour process following the crisis of mass production entered into a new era shaped by flexible specialization. This transformation concurrently explains a transition from vertical integration to vertical disintegration in the production organization. The common intra-firm linkage type which the flexible production organization redefines and the vertical disintegration prompts its development, is subcontracting. World automobile industry, with its production organization and interrelationship, has followed a parallel development to this process. With the application of flexible production models (Just-in-Time) in the automobile sector, a transformation from vertical integration to vertical disintegration and especially to subcontracting in the production organization is observed. In this framework, when the pattern of Turkish automobile supplier industry and assembler-supplier relationship is analyzed, there emerges a structure which was not independent from the concepts mentioned above but which is peculiar to the developing countries. The structure of the Turkish automobile assembler-supplier relations, in a vertically integrated pattern can be discussed where the two leading assembler firms effect differently. In this sector, that is defined by these types of production relations, there ivemerges three groups of suppliers. The first group, generally consists of company groups which are also the shareholders of the main assemblers and which support around 40% of the necessary demand for main assembler industries by using high technology in direct relation with foreign capital. The second group of supplier industry comprises a wider range of firms in the sector. This group, generally, supports the sector by using older technologies. In continuous relation with the main firm, although a small portion of such firms managed to develop, a significant part of this group remains as medium and small scale producers. The third group that continues to operate in the sector at the time being but whose relation with the main assembler firms is gradually weakening are generally consist of workshops whose output is consumed on a larger scale by supplier firms rather than car assemblers. The automobile sector defined by different group of supplier firms, resembles, with its production organization, the structure in the developing countries.
