Özet
Kocaeli İli Çevre Gelişim Planında kuzey ve güney yönünde kentsel gelişme öngörülmesine rağmen, doğal engeller nedeniyle Kocaeli doğu-batı doğrultusundaki kent formunu korumaya devam etmektedir. Genel ulaşımda kent merkezinde oluşan ve çevre yerleşimlerden gelen yolculukların büyük bir bölümü doğu batı yönündeki tek bir aksa (D-100 Karayolu) yüklenmiş durumdadır.Tezin konusunu oluşturan Monoray sistemi günümüzün modern toplu taşıma sistemlerinden biri olup uygulandığı şehirde, şehrin çehresini değiştirmekte ve modernizasyonunu tetiklemektedir.Bu çalışma kapsamında alternatif bir ulaşım modeli olarak sunulan monoray ulaşım sisteminin uygulanabilir güzergah seçimi , bu güzergahtaki mevcut durum, yolculuk kapasitesinin belirlenmesi, kuruluş ve işletme bakımından monoray sisteminin mali portresinin çıkartılması ve bu çıkarımlar sonucunda fayda ve maliyet girdilerinin belirlenmesi ve sistemin uygulanabilirliğinin araştırılması hedeflenmiştir.Tezin birinci bölümünde, çalışmanın amacı, objektifleri ve monoray ulaşım sistemi hakkında kısa bilgiler verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde, dünyadaki monoray uygulamaları, mevcut sistemler, sistem birleşenleri ve sistem kurulumu için genel maliyet birleşenleri incelenmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde, Kocaeli ilinin coğrafi özellikleri, nüfus bilgileri, Büyükşehir belediyesinin sınırları ve mevcutta kullanılan toplu taşıma sistemleri hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde, güzergah belirlenirken incelenen kriterler, önerilen güzergah , güzergahtaki mevcut toplu ulaşım sistemleri ve hattın yolculuk tahminleri incelenmiştir. Beşinci bölümde ise maliyetler ve fizibilite hesapları sunulmuştur. Son bölümde ise elde ettiğimiz veriler neticesinde sonuç ve öneriler sunulmuştur.Anahtar Kelimeler : Kent içi Ulaşım Sistemleri, Monoray, Fizibilite Etüdü.

Though being taken into consideration the urbanism development at north and souht direction in Kocaeli city environment developing plan, Kocaeli keeps its shapeen the east-west direction due to the natural obstacles. The big majority of the passengers coming from the environment locals and being formed in the city central in general transportation has been dense at one axle in the east west direction ( D-100 Highway).The monoraai system forming the issue of the thesis is one of the modern mass transport systems, and if applicable, it has been changing the appearance of the city and triggers the modernization.In this work, it has been targeted of searching of the system's applicable and determination of the cost expenditure and benefit of the monoray system, the financial portrait calculation for the institutions and enterprises, the present situation at this route, determination of travel capacity on this workto be applicable, route preference presented as an alternative transportation model.In first section of the thesis, it is given short details about the monoray transportation system and the objectives, aiming of the work. In second section, it was examined the general cost results for system assembling and the present systems, the system combinations, the monoray system in the world. In the third section, information has been given about the mass transportation system in use and the boundaries of Kocaeli Great Municipality, the inhabitant information, the geographical peculiarities of Kocaeli city.In the fourth section, it has been examined the transport estimation of the route and the present mass transportation systems, proposed route,the examined criteria on route determination.In the fifth section, the cost and the feasibility accountings have been presented.Key words : The urbanism transportation system, Monorail, Feasibility study
