Özet
Bu çalışmada erime ve çözünme konusunda kavramsal değişim yaklaşımına dayalı olarak hazırlanan kavramsal değişim metinleri ve ikili yerleşik öğrenme etkinliklerinin kavram yanılgılarının giderilmesinde öğrenci başarısına ve motivasyona (güdülenmeye) olan etkisi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin bilimsel düşünme yeteneklerinin öğrenci başarısına ve motivasyona olan etkisi de araştırılmıştır.Çalışma tek grup öntest-sontest desen (the one group pretest-posttest design) olarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırma; 2009?2010 öğretim yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinde okuyan ve Temel Kimya dersini alan toplam 64 1. sınıf öğrencisi ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Erime ve Çözünme Kavram Testi (EÇKT), Öğrenmede Güdüsel Stratejiler Anketi (ÖGSA) ve Bilimsel Düşünme Yetenekleri Testi (BDYT) kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin kimyaya yönelik motivasyonlarını belirlemek amacıyla ÖGSA için doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Çalışmada hipotezlerin doğruluğunu tespit etmek için, t-testi, Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi, ANCOVA ve MANOVA analizleri yapılmıştır.Çalışma sonunda kavramsal değişim metinleri ve ikili yerleşik öğrenme modelinin öğrenci başarısını ve motivasyonu içsel hedef, öğrenme ve performansla ilgili öz-yeterlik ve görev değeri alt boyutlarında geliştirdiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca bilimsel düşünme yeteneklerinin erime ve çözünme konusundaki öğrenci başarısında ve öğrencilerin motivasyonlarında içsel hedef düzenleme, öğrenme ve performansla ilgili öz-yeterlik ve öğrenmeye ilişkin kontrol inancı alt boyutlarında anlamlı bir katkısı olduğu görülmüştür.

This study aims to determine the effects of Conceptual Change Texts and Dual Situated Learning Events on student achievement and motivation for the elimination of misconceptions related to the subject of melting and dissolving. Moreover, the present study also analyzes the effects of student scientific reasoning skills on their achievement and motivation.The population of this study, using a one group pretest-posttest design, was comprised of sixty four freshmen attending the Faculty of Education at Hacettepe University and taking the Basic Chemistry course in the academic year, 2009-2010. The Melting and Dissolving Concept Test (MDCT), the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) and the Scientific Reasoning Skills Test (SRST) were used as data collection tool within the scope of the study. Confirmatory factor analysis was made on the MSLQ in order to reveal the chemistry motivation of the participant students. Moreover; t-test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, ANCOVA and MANOVA analysis were made within the scope of the study to test the study hypothesis.At the end of the study, conceptual change texts and a dual situated learning model were found to positively affect student achievement and motivation in terms of the sub-dimensions of intrinsic goals, self-efficacy for learning and performance, and task value. In addition, scientific reasoning skills were recorded to have positive effects on student achievement and motivation in melting and dissolving subjects in terms of the sub-dimensions of intrinsic goal orientation, self-efficacy for learning and performance and the control of learning beliefs.
